Easy enough to blame Roli, and he deserves his fair share of it for sure. But come on, forwards weren't backchecking. The D just kind of stood around and let Malkin waltz down the middle of the ice on multiple occasions. They looked broken today. Not that they didn't try hard at some points, but everything they touched turned to crap and you could tell by watching them that they expected it to turn out that way.
Thanks for a reasonable assessment.
I got home and felt like crying. Not sure if I can watch the DVR of this one. Reading through the thread seems like in the first there were some unlucky goals/deflections, then as the game wore on a bad angle goal, a few hung out to dry goals including the goal of the year per the main boards, the team gave up and it's all on him.
What a load of trash! What a *****ing display put on today. And these guys say they're still fighting for a playoff spot??? Well....sad news to all the rest of you guys fighting for a spot cuz the other half quit! Clark, Brewer, Roli can hit the road if you're just going to go through the motions...****ing loafers all of them....(okay there's a few exceptions)
Senators have interest in Roloson? After this game I don't think so...
The second last game Roli played for the Isles he gave up 7 goals vs the Rangers in much the same scenario. Yzerman still traded for him.
Of course, he had been having a much better season compared to this season, but his playoff experience is valuable and the price would be pretty cheap.
