I want Nash, but if the trade deadline comes and goes with out Nash being a Rangers and it comes out that Howson would not come off wanting one of Stepan, McD, or MDZ, I will not be the least bit upset at Sather.

Yeah, if the deal isn't right for Nash just keep moving forward. There will always be guys to add down the road.

honestly as much as i would love them to get Nash. i don't think this deal happens. i think columbus can get more for nash if they wait til the offseason.

but the fact that wolski was traded makes me think something is going to happen... but i would be shocked if come monday Nash is a ranger.

Yup. Pretty much.

I will be disappointed... at CLB's unreasonableness and ineptitude. Not that we didn't get him at all costs.

I would love to have Nash but if CBJ keeps pushing for the moon I would be happy to pass.

The quality of the return for Nash will go down in the offseason more then likely. The teams that Nash would accept a trade to will have more options to go after then they do now. They could go after Parise, Suter, Weber (If available), Ryan (If available), etc. You all know Toronto, San Jose, LA, and the Rangers (Amongst other teams) will be going hard after all or some of those players.

I think Howson's best change of a solid return is before the deadline.

Honestly I don't see why cbj would be forced to move him, last I checked he's a pretty good player and their going to be a lotttery pick with or without him.

if nothing happens only regarding Nash, I'm all for it.

but if nothing at all happens and we don't adequately address geting a guy that can finish somewhat regularly, another depth forward, and depth on defense… it will drive me nuts thinking that Sather might've held back na good deal because he had the 1st or 2nd pick wrapped up in the Nash offer.

They won't get near as much then for Nash as they would now. In the offseason, Howson will call up these GM's asking the same price and they'll all laugh and say "***** please".

if ur referring to Nash yea good chance nothing happens but the Rangers as a team will be getting depth players for sure

they are not going to go with Bickel as the 6th D so a depth Dman is on the way

they have 12 F on the roster now. So they are going to get a depth Forward, likely a faceoff C

I have no doubt something is going down but it may be minor

I think the deadline is the best opportunity to move some assets, such as WoJo, and make the cap space needed to improve the future of the team...

Personally I'd like to see it used to acquire Zach Parise on July 1st

Not so sure I agree with that. Nash's agent says the list of acceptable teams won't increase...and those few teams will have other options at that point. Take NYR...we want Nash for the playoff push and post season. Come July we can try for praise or look to deal for other players. We could even wait until next season to see how kreider and others look. Jmo obviously.

St. Louis is an amazing player, but a 35+ contract with several years left that takes him to around 40 or 41 years old I think, do not want.

Speeding up a rebuilding process by getting 3-4 good pieces back.

Quite possibly Nash really wants to leave now (but that's just speculation on my behalf) but its conceivable to think that he wants to be dealt to a contender.

The Devils would overpay to make sure Parise isn't a blue shirt. Parise will not be a Ranger. Not going to happen.

At first I didn't even want Nash, then with a deal that I thought was acceptable to NYR fans I changed my mind. But now I don't see it happening.

I do not think Sather is done, I think there is still something minor to be made. But I think the Nash ship has sailed and we will move forward from here. Which I am not to sad about.

It's not that I think we gave up on Nash, but I feel like they are asking for way more then we are willing to give up. And I applaud Sather for that.

Me too. Sometime the deals u don't make are the best ones. Then players like Dubi can take a deep breath and relax.

Possibly? His agent basically came out and said "get me out of here".

The devils are running a 10 Million dollar plus deficit. There is no guarantee they will be willing to break the bank for him when they still owe kovalchuk 100 mil. No point in talking in definitives when nobody knows how things will play out. For all we know he could even want out.

Agree. I don't understand the infatuation around here with including McIIrath in every trade proposal.
