Good to see this trade has already got us a point. Hopefully he will continue to score points just like the last two times he was traded.

The Anti-Wolski sentiment seems to have disappeared quite quickly I really hope he can have a rebirth in the sunshine state, he definitely has talent

I said he's gonna be the most talented behind our top line. You guys obviously didn't have te NHL package the past few seasons. I was very happy to see smithson play well and really showed his worth with the face off circle pk and good passing

Actually 2 we don't get the chance for the second point without him tying it up. Hope he goes on tear now that he gets some playing time.

Good trade already! Wolski created a lot of chances and I think he can get it going here

Hopefully Dineen sees it and gives Matthias more minutes on the ice.
I know I criticized him last season but he has been phenomenal this season. If a guy deserves more ice time then it has to be Matthias!

It's hard for Matthias to get ice time when Kopecky is out there all the time.

exactly... you missed it twice...

#1 You only take on 1.3 million for the rest of the season
#2 scrub maybe? but coulld easily be a 20 goal scorer next year.

It gives the Panthers the best chances of signing him next season. Tallon probably signs him for 2 years 4 million and he scores 20+ goals the next 2 seasons. Tallon turns around guys like this all the time.

Don't be surprised if they trade him next year and pick up a 2nd and 3rd rounder for him. I know he is a rental salary cap dump nothing more... lol

Tallon turns trades like this into gems.

I don't think things are so set in stone like many people think they are. If this guy plays lights out, why is it already decided he is a goner?

Tallon likes acquiring players like this because they have skill but have been down and out for awhile. If he can turn it around, he has a job on this team, if he can't he'll be gone. It's pretty much that simple.

An interesting thing I read this morning was Wolski commented that it was easy to just step in to the lineup because it was a similar system that he's played before. That will mean a lot to how much he can contribute during regulation for the rest of the season and possibly beyond. I think he's got a better than average chance at being re-signed because of that. A top 6 player familiar with Dineen's system is definitely valuable to Tallon.
