yeah that sounds like more than enough to me. I thought the Stars should have drafted Armia when they had the chance last year.

Close. Armia is intriguing, but I think we want NHL forwards, or at least a prospect closer than him, and preferrably a center..

Also, this sounds more like a deal for next deadline than this for Buffalo.

If the marathon pre-draft interview sessions the Stars had with Armia are any indication that might be an offer that interests them too.

Sekera's contract has 3 more years on it though which is not exactly appealing.

That was my thought exactly. "Alright ship him out."

Honestly I'm a fan of his, but watching both games out west here he didn't look like much at all. I know it's only two games and he's still a kid, but I can't help be let it sink in my mind. I know another highly skilled player drafted 2nd overall named Pat Falloon. I want us to get JVR, but I'm still hesitant dealing Ott. That's a lot of character and gusto to give up.

I share the same sentiment as Bennrocks - I wanted Armia but I'm happy with Oleksiak. I was impressed with Armia at the WJRs this year - watched him live and on T.V. I would be very interested in him.

I think Ott-Glennie and a conditional first could very well be seen. For JVR that is.

To those saying they'd take Schenn over JVR... Wtf?

There's no way in HELL I'd give Ott+Glennie for Schenn. Then you talk about adding a pick to that? **** off Burke.

Rather Just go after Weber or Suter in the Summer.

JVR-Benn-Eriksson is a showstopper.

Eriksson-Benn-Parise is even better.

Then a strong showing for a BIGTIME D in the offseason? Talking about a completely different team then.

If we're going for the playoffs then you get a forward by monday. A good one. If not? Sell. A lot.

BigG brought up Schenn, would the price for Braydon be more or less than JVR? He's not a big contributor for Philly this season, they don't feel they're selling low on JVR and he actually fills a need in Dallas at center and probably reunites him and Glennie. I seriously doubt they'd deal both but if Stars' fans had to pick which would we prefer?

I think most were referring to Brayden Schenn when talking about Schenn minus the few times that Toronto has been brought up

Cin they're talking about the other Schenn, the younger brother former LA prospect and Glennie teammate, Brayden Schenn. He hasn't been the phenom some predicted but he's only 22 and also buried on Philly's depth chart. I would think he'd be cheaper than JVR, though probably not by much, and fills a bigger need at center.

Ah many apologies then. I saw Toronto and Schenn.

I'll take Brayden over JVR

I brought up Luke, either in this thread or over in the Trade Board.

Why not get both?

because the older Schenn is vastly overrated and would cost an arm and a leg as burke tries to save face on his poor draft choice. the kid is decent but hardly the type of guy a team should trade up to draft.

I just don't see them trading him. He was the key piece in them moving Richards, and while Simmonds is easily outperforming him right now, it'll take some massive overpayment to move him. Not as much as Richards is worth, but still quite a bit.

And then of course we'd want to keep Glennie. I can't see us doing that without giving up one of Nemeth and Oleksiak, and I just really don't want to do that. But Schenn would probably be worth that.

I imagine Brayden Schenn and JVR have value that is in the same ballpark with eachother. Maybe Schenn would be a little more available due to Sean Couturier making such a quick impact but I am not sure. The appeal of having Schenn and Couturier down the middle and maybe putting Giroux on the wing has got to be pretty strong.

Hard to choose, I may opt for Schenn. I think the price for Schenn would also be a little higher.
