Consistent Effort
Honestly, I don't know why the Kings cannot give a consistent effort every night as they did last night.
They have looked virtually unbeatable in some games. Examples (going backward) include last night's game, the Ottawa home win 4-1, the Washington home win 5-2, the Vancouver home win 4-1, the San Jose home win 2-0, the Minnesota home win 5-2, and the home opener against St. Louis, 5-0.
They looked like a totally different team. And I don't consider the wins "flukes," I really consider them as efforts they should always bring to the table.
Look at the opponents. San Jose, Washington, Vancouver. These are obviously teams they got up for. The home opener. See what I am saying? It's all mental. If they can get up for games like this every night, then they will easily make the playoffs.
And if they play with the consistent effort they are capable of in the playoffs, then I see really big results.
This team has the talent. Now it just needs the mental readiness to get it done.
