For how ****** the Habs have been playing these boards have actually been pretty good. Nowhere near where I've seen them in the past.

I understand the tanking mentality, and I am now fully onboard since we clearly will not be making the playoffs.

That said, how can you still find the motivation to watch these games? What are you looking for? All I see is a team with no heart, no hustle, no skill. I'm getting close to packing it in for the year, and not watching another Canadiens game all year.

Actually, if you read some posts lately, some posters find that everything is great. That we're heading in a great direction and that everything is actually fine. That we'll keep the same squad and that LUCK will be on our side. If some are capable of doing it here...imagine how a guy like Gauthier thinks.

Feel for some of the guys who are giving an honest effort...but far too many passengers, and a coaching staff that doesn't have a clue...

I just wanna see how bad it can get and **** on them TBH. I wanna have a reason to hate this team on a daily basis this year.

Hockey is about puck possession and the Habs are giving the puck away every chance they get, looking for puck position or a stretch pass. Any good coach who's half-awake will recognize what the Habs are trying to do and -- since they are eminently predictable -- turn the Habs' tactics against them, by simply collecting the puck when the Habs give it up and rapidly sending it the other way.

Martin may have been boring to some, but at least there was puck support and transition and options for players and actual structure. There's essentially no structure anymore. This is kindergarten hockey -- the simplest possible play every single time.
I can't wait until this team has a coach again.

This is one game I wanted them to lose.

As blasphemous as it may seem, I'm hoping that it'll make the ones in charge realize "OK... time to redo this team."

It may only mean a few changes (additions and/or subtractions) but, my goodness, there's some really good talent there. It's time to start to build around them, to surround them with players that'll have a steady positive impact.

We'll see.

If Markov comes back to play he'll probably look horrible because he's all about the transition game, and RC is going to ask him to just chip it to the line.

Then again, he might just be able to occasionally connect on one of those suicide stretch passes.

We obviously have to build a stronger D group, and have an actual useful 4th line.
But RC is absolutely horrible as well. I mean, I just don't get how he coaches, if you want to call it that..

This was the second consecutive game I've missed, for exactly the reason you said. No guilt or anger, just a diminishing interest. The entertainment and drama aren't there, so what is the point? Doesn't make me less of fan - I'll still be there here and there and will be primed for next year.
