Not not necessarily a bad thing... at least you won't accumulate gray hairs.

Thinking out loud about Plan B = Ryan Getzlaf+ Beauchemin are in Sather's sights and he is a UFA in 2014 . Anaheim will ship him out...Sather sends assets back...he plays in this playoff year for us and the following season and he is then a UFA . Hard to know what will happen then . Getzlaf will cost us Kreider and Dubi for sure and more .

Beauchemin just signed for 3 more years total of around 10.5 Million .

There is no way ANA trades any of their prime pieces at this point. They are still in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Much rather see Sather take a shot at MSL. If TB says no then so be it. But he fits the Rangers style

I think Anaheim is out...they have more games played ...or I thought they had when I checked the stats this AM . They are likely getting some GM's asking . That trade proposal would add everything we need to complete our team for the next two seasons !!!

Getzlaf? Not only is he not going anywhere, but damn right it would cost Dubi, Kreider, and probably something like Stepan, Wrath/Erixon and a 1st.

This team doesn't need centers. They need a dynamic, big-body, shoot-first LW.

and Beauchemin? No thanks.

Dubi, good prospect, first.

At least some form of: Roster player, good prospect, first.

I have a feeling trade deadline is going to be a boring disappointing event like it's been every year, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Part of me would have loved to see Nash in Ranger blue, but not if it cost McD/MDZ. Another part of me thinks it's better to wait it out.

As much as I love Goose (Gaustad) and I agree that he fits the system, he's just not what the Rangers need the most and wouldn't help all that much. Neither Boyes nor Roy make any sense to me.

I'm watching Sportsnet ch 406 on Bell Satellite and it is the Hockey Central Special . On the bottom of the screen in the Headline Ticker they have Wolski being dealt for Michael Ryder and a 3rd round pick ??? What is up with that...a mistake ??? I had to rewind it to check again .

Must have a new girl typing out the latest trades ! LOL .

Agreed, what we need isn't going to be available via UFA (Parise, just my opinion) So this team will need to make some kind of trade to get over the hump, while not mortgaging the future getting it done. Dubi holds his highest trade value right now, if next year starts to resemble this year in any way shape or form, we're stuck with his contract for good. I refuse to speculate what this team could possibly look like with guys on the roster that have never competed for a spot on an NHL roster, and leave it at that..

It isn't even the deadline and people are complaining about the deadline being boring....what?

I'm sure we'll still have a decent amount of trades tomorrow.

I'd be tickled with Brendan Morrow and Bryan Allen.

Last year the trade deadline was boring and frustrating but at least the days leading up to it there were many blockbuster trades. This year, nothing.

The moves that still need to be made are the ones that make Bickel an 8th or 9th defenseman, and one that makes Mitchel our 13th or 14th fwd.

In order for rhat to happen id be equally happy with a serious 3rd line center that allows torts to drop boyle to the 4th line and move Rupp to the wing ( thereby giving dubi a center that can get some points out of him and give us three legitimate lines to get pts in he playoffs). Or a 2nd line LW that would allow hagelin to perform spot duty on the third line when scoring is needed, and prust on the thirs line when grit or turnovers are needed.

The defenseman that Slats needs to find can compliment Stralman on the right side until Sauer returns, and can perform well as the 7th when/if Sauer retruns giving us a defense of:

McD - Girardi
Staal - Sauer
MDZ - Stralman
Insert fill in - 7th
Eminger - 8th
Bickel - 9th

Can Erixon be that guy for us?

Smyth wants to stay in EDM. I believe they were trying to work out an extension.

As long as the cap keeps rising and the loser point continues, trade deadlines and UFA will continue to be dull.

Teams either lock up their guys, or the rare guys that don't are usually on teams that think they can make the playoffs.

Now when the cap goes down for a season, then we'll have something to pay attention to.
