Bishop for 2013 2nd round pick? I like this

Now, back onto proposals topic:

Rumors going on that Dustin Brown might be available. Young, good leader, 20 goal guy, solid forchecking. Anyone think that the Sens should do a little bit more than kick tires around this guy? I'd love to see number 23 playing with Turris. Best of all, he's not on the last year of his deal

Paranteau is a name that keeps on coming up. Garrioch just floated it again on Sportsnet's tradecenter preview show. He is from the region and was drafted by T. Murray.

He has been rumoured to be available because he's scheduled to be an UFA after the season.

interesting it would be nice to get someone in the top 6. There is a real weakness there with Butler and greening. I am fine with keeping 1 there but 2 is a bit much.

Right now Spezza and Karlsson are going beast mode while a lot of our 2nd guys have slowed down ...we cant keep this up forever

Agreed. And if the team should suffer an injury to Spezza, Michalek, Alfredsson, or Turris, they could be in trouble offensively. The team needs at least one other top-6 forward, and Parenteau would be a pretty good addition.

Parenteau would make a ton of sense, it all depends on Snow's asking price tomorrow though.

I think he is going to cost too much. Snow asks for the moon for all his UFA's.

Throwing this out there but the odds of us getting Dustin Brown are one in eleventy billion. I think tommorrow will be pretty slow, nothing but minor moves IMO. I would love for thier to be lots of trades but I get the feeling I will be dissapointed. Still waiting on Murray to go and snag Clitsome.

When Mendes interviewed Murray earlier and asked him about a depth forward tomorrow, Murray basically said something like "Well I don't know if there will be anything, but if I were you I'd be around tomorrow." I thought this would have been talked about, did anyone else hear that?

There was only one scout at the Sens game tonight. Guess which team he was representing.

I think he's buying for sure. And I bet given how there's been so much talk of the draft not being very deep this year that he's dangling his first round pick (a gamble he can afford to take given the great job they did drafting guys like Stone, Silfverberg and Zibanejad - three guys that have all been projected to at least make it to the NHL, if not have lengthy pro careers.) Think about the last time he talked about this team, he was saying that he thinks this team could win more than one round. Another scoring forward in to the top 6 could really vault this team given the way they've played so far this year. It would also appropriately push guys down the charts a bit in to positions where their contributions can be maximized. ie. Guys like Greening, Butler and Foligno wouldn't feel the pressure to score every game because they are playing on the scoring lines.

The East is a serious crap shoot this year. The one team that this club doesn't match up well against style-wise is Boston. I'd say we have a roughly even chance against any other playoff team at this point.

My guess is he is trying to trade for a Top-6, but really he's not allowed to say anything

Very interesting quote from Murray to Mendes. And with how many times Ottawa/Colorado have scouted each other, you'd think that something has to go down there. Galiardi or Jones would be great!

I figured he was just making a joke with Mendes because of the deadline craziness in the media.

"Better stick around tomorrow" like, ha ha, where the hell else is he gonna be?

This thread is getting me excited tomorrow.

I could easily see us getting Jones.

That no trade clause is keeping us away from Nash unfortunately.

I'd love to see Dustin Brown here, but as others have said, that too is unlikely.

Sam Gagner would be another guy I'd like to see in an Ottawa jersey He's 6 years younger than Parenteau, and isn't a UFA, so he could be another guy to add for the long haul. Again, not likely, but would be fantastic.
