Which of these fringe playoff climbers will be most active buyers tomorrow, and what would be their trade (incoming) priority?

East:
Florida: 68 pt, 20 Games

Washington: 67pt, 20 Games
Toronto: 65pt, 20 Games (Buyer/seller status unknown) (Goaltending, Top 6?) Speculations of Khabibulin

West:
San Jose: 71pt, 22 Games (Another top 6?) One of front runners for Nash
Dallas: 70pt, 19 Games
Los Angeles: 68pt, 20 Games Outside runner for Nash
Colorado: 68pt, 19 Games
Calgary: 67pt, 20 Games (Buyer/seller status unknown)

Colorado. I think they move guys like Jones, Galiardi, Winnik....not sure if buying or selling. maybe some of both...hard to judge. I'll assume they are buyers based off the Downie trade.

In the East I see Florida, Winnipeg looking over options but not at the expense of the future. Washington will be in buying/selling mode at the same time and Leafs will do anything to make the playoffs.

In the West, I don't expect Dallas and Colorado to add much, but take overpayments(selling/get something good back) if they see it. SJ, LA and Calgary could be busy.

I think the Kings aren't quite done yet...but it might be on balancing out the 3rd and 4th lines a little better with their deal(s)...

Greg Sherman is a cheeky fella. I don't know what to expect really. I'd like a LH solid stay at home guy for EJ but don't really wanna give up Jones to get it.

We'll see what happens.

Colorado and Florida would be my guesses.

I believe the Avalanche will make two or three shake-up trades. Nothing major.

I could see the Sharks doing something major given how much they've struggled lately.

I suspect Washington to do something tomorrow but like in previous years it will be underwhelming and not on the roster come next season, but it will cost us picks and prospects.

I think Winnipeg will do something for sure. It'd be a huge coup for them to make the playoffs in their first year. Personally I think they'll look for some help on the power-play. They have a good goaltending, great work-ethic and some excellent 2 way guys, but an extra point shot or net presence could make them a real PP threat.

P.A. Parenteau, Sheldon Souray or Paul Gaustad could be targets. Knuble could also help but I can't see Washington dealing with Winnipeg directly given how close they are on the table.

The last thing Winnipeg needs are point men. We have Buff and Bogo as consistent big shots. Then we have Enstrom back there as well with Hainsey having plenty of PP experience. Now, a big body down low would be interesting.

Winnipeg won't be. They will NOT take on any impending UFAs (Chevy has stated he doesn't do rentals). They'll likely move Oduya for picks and a prospect, or Jones if they can. They may hunt for a decent winger that could play second or third line if they can get one on a good deal.

That's about it.

I think Florida will listen to offers for Garrison.

50/50 on if he will be traded.

Don't see Tallon giving up any high prospects, especially any he drafted.

So, might be quiet for the Panthers.

Moving Oduya for picks and/or prospects makes less sense then not moving him at all. Why move a guy without immediate help coming back when you are fighting for the playoffs? They're more likely to hold onto him then do that.

Because I think they feel like Flood or Jones can handle Oduya's pairing just fine -- Flood is obviously in the plans -- and Oduya is reportedly getting a good bit of interest and could fetch a nice return, though probably not the forward we need unless we're adding stuff they don't want to add. (Since rentals are ruled out.)

Keep in mind whatever we get for Oduya could be packaged and traded to a true seller for a forward, so no it's not worse than not moving him at all.

I think Leafs shed some weight tomorrow.
-Armstrong to a young team with lots of cap space (StL, NSH, PHO, LA)
-Grabovski to Anaheim
-One of Gunnarsson, Komisarek or Holzer to be moved. Schenn will likely be moved in the offseason, just like Nash (CBJ).

-I also think we acquire a goaltender of some sort, one of Mason or Nabokov.

Calgary is likely a seller after the losses to the Yotes and Flyers.

Calgary won't really be a seller. All our valuable assets have NTC/NMC or are injured.
Also we have a bad GM.

Kings might make one move... doubt they'll be the most active.
