Hmmm....Just a thought

Is it just me, or are the opposing teams playing their backup goalies against Edmonton more often than not? Are the other coaches in the league not taking us seriously? Don't teams ussualy play back-up goalies against teams like Columbus, Pittsburg and San Jose...not Edmonton? just a question.

Even if we are playing against back-up, it doesnt seem like were winning as many games as we're supposed to. Maybe we desrve it...

We played Legace because they had no options.

We played Prusek because Lalime had one game off all year, and there was a huge game coming up against a conference rival (NJ).

And Raycroft is hardly the backup, more like 1A as he has had an excellent season.

The Oilers never have luck vs backups in recent memory. I would put my backup against them too.

ugh*i know what you mean. Remember when an unknown goaltender from the IHL (I think his name was Cody Rudkowsky) shut us out last year? I was embarrassed for the team!

In the Oilers' defence, Mclennan was in because Turek was hurt.

And Mathieu Garon, Brent Johnson.

The Oilers have faced #1 goalies only six times this year in 15 games.

That's NINE backup goalies. That's a 60% backup goalie percentage.

And they're STILL below .500.

I think a lot of other teams have looked at our roster for this year and have seen an abundance of young, inexperienced talent. Why wouldn't a team use their backup against us? I think the backup ratio will change though, as soon as Edmonton plays some plus .500 hockey.

Isn't that the truth!!! More first winners, first shutouts, first everythings for backup goalies against Edmonton than I would like to remember. Normally the backups play in Calgary before or after the teams game in Edmonton. Ah well keep feeding us the second best'm sure it will assist the record.

Maybe this is why we are scoring 4 goals a game...
