Fair deal for both clubs. I like it. You know SK has to be pumped up.

Niceeeeeeeeeeee! Poile works his magic. Very good price from us. Still leaves a lot of assets for us to us if there is a bigger fish still out there and if not then we get the guy we wanted without giving up any quality assets.

Only picks going back....OK.

I'm still not sure how I feel about this. I hope he can take care of his consistency issues.

If AK didn't want to be here, one post-game trip to Broadway might change his mind.....

Agreed. Excellent trade that cost very little compared to what was initially reported. Good move by Poile to add some depth.

Gotta wonder if Poile is looking for another similar move over the next few hours since the 'big one' won't be happening....

Good to get this done early. Add a top-6 and maybe one more D and lets rap this up! Good day so far!

I like it because even if AK is a relative flop we gave up very little and it was worth the risk anyway.

this is nearly perfect for Poile.

He adds scoring depth, gives up next to nothing and finishes with the image that he went HARD after Nash. He avoids being roaster for not landing Nash because most knew it was a longshot at best, and the player he brings in is received well as his brother has a good reputation with the club already.

Well done, possibly Poile's best deadline (gill, AK) and it may not be done!

This has been a fantastic deadline for us so far. 2 pieces we need a big defensive defenseman and a pure shooter, just for 2 2nd rounders.

Edit: We gave up the same as Ottawa for Ben Bishop. Wow.

Good pick up by Poile for getting a potential sniper. Low risk/High reward type of trade.

Poile has been busy this year. The only other targets I could see him going after is a center (Roy, etc), or a physical character bottom 6er (Ott, Malone, etc)

I can't see another deal unless it's a big one. Maybe for some more defensive depth like Zanon.

We don't have the roster spots for another 'pretty good' player. We have enough 'pretty good' players.

Of couse if we trade for a 'really good' player, I'm sure one of our 'pretty good' players will be going the other way opening up a roster space.

like the fisher deal, everyone knew this was going to happen, pretty much all season.

for the price? loooove it.

Wonder, since the trade took place so early in the day, if he gets into the lineup tonight? Probably not, with tomorrow in Carolina more likely.

You have to applaud DP's performance so far. Gill and Ak are very good cup run additions. They both add size. We essentially gave up a couple of 2nd rounders and a player who had zero chance at cracking our lineup.

What I like best about it is not trading a roster player. Keeps depth in the organization. Really like how Bourque has stepped in and hasn't looked out of place.

I'm happy with this. We gave up really just a couple of 2nd rounders for Gill and AK. Geoffrion was expendable, never heard of Slaney.

AK is that buy low guy that might blossom into something special here.

Good job DP.
