If Brad Luckowich would've knocked Eric Stall down with 6 seconds left in Game 2 in 2006

If Captain America would have properly cleared the puck with less than 60 seconds to go and his team-leading 2-1 in Game 7/2009

You've got to be kidding me :

The defence needs to gel soon, that's for sure.

Come on. Parise's not going to get traded.

However, this game was only about one if IMO. What if they gave an honest effort? If they played a similar game to the one against the Canucks; hell if they played a game at half the intensity we saw against the Canucks, they win this. It's certainly not the end of the world. I'm over the fact that they lost already. It's just tough to get over the mediocre, lax, uninspired effort. It seems to be a trend with this team against teams below them in the standings.
My subtle point is that one game we played incredibly well and lost due to things that don't normally happen and another game we played pretty crappy but still had scoring chances (several) that were whiffed on due to bad bounces. People were still in the right place at the right time and just didn't go our way.

When you lose and still had plenty of chances to win but didn't execute, that's a mountain better than losing when you never got the scoring chances (we all remember games where 30+ shots were taken but none were real scoring chances on shots charts that look like it was all defense taking the shots).

They're not far off. Zach is gripping the stick tight again. Elias isn't shooting much at all. Kovalchuk is showing frustration despite the stats. Henrique is making incredible moves but just not finishing the highlight reel plays.

I don't see a team giving up at all in the losses, I see a team hammering away and getting a little frustrated they aren't scoring. That's a better problem imo because it shows they know how good they can/should be...

Agreed 100%. This 2-game losing streak could've been much more awful than it was.
