He didn't say by far, in fact, he said he hasn't looked at the western conference goalies. And the Vezina is for best goalie, not best defensive play. This is why Blues goalie's aren't winning the Vezina. Why not just say he deserves the Vezina and be done there? is the extra jab something that's necessary?

Didn't he also say something a month or 2 ago when asked the same question he named Rinne and Luongo but made no mention of any of the guys in the East he see's regularly?

He said:
Tom Gulitti ‏ @TGfireandice
Brodeur on Lundqvist's Vezina chances: "I haven't looked at the other goalies (in West), but on our side by far I think he should get it."

Again, it seems like you guys pounce on Brodeur every opportunity you get for the most minor of things.

Enjoy the game.

Which is not saying that he thinks Hank should win it By Far.

Defensive system? Fresh coming from a guy who would regularly see 13 shots a game.

He didn't say defensive system..he said a structured system. That's not the same thing. Keep nit-picking.

1) Both (and most) goalies have egos. See: MB30 logo and Lundqvist's 30 in a crown logo (i'm confused as to the poster who said one is alright yet the other is egotistical..)

2) Don't think Brodeur was making a backhand comment in the statement about the Vezina trophy simply because he didn't include Western conference goalies. He obviously doesn't watch the WC that much (who does?). Reading way too into that.

3) Lundqvist called out Brodeur for diving on the disallowed goal scrum at the end of the last game we played you guys... if there's a code as to what goalies should and shouldn't say about other goalies, obviously both goalies would have violated it.

It was a compliment and that's pretty much it. He was asked a question and gave his opinion. In all honesty, its one that Lundqvist should take as a sign of respect, not a disqualification of his play this year.

why arent the Debbie fans over here defending Marty not getting infractions?

lord knows if any Ranger fans were in their thread defending the King they would have been banned from it already and given infractions.

I haven't said anything to warrant one. I've been extremely respectful in everything I've posted and this is an open forum.

ok Tortorella, you have your NYR team for the rest of this season. Make it happen.

And Dubi needs to start playing better ASAP. This is getting ridiculous.

Oh, because its relevant, I'm not sure if you guys know but our beat reporter (Tom Gulitti) is actually a long time Ranger fan.

Go read his tweets (thats where the comments came from). I'd trust him the most regarding Brodeur's tone and what he was inferring considering he was the one who asked him the question and is definitely more impartial than all of us here combined.

This is true.

Guys, we've all agreed that Hanke benefits from our guys blocking shots. It doesn't take away from his achievements so far, and just because Marty said it doesn't mean it's an insult.

We hate him. Everyone gets it. He had a great defense too.
Let's just move on. I like thinking that we're the more reasonable fanbase, but we're making it difficult to stand behind that.

Jonathan, you forgot, "The Swedish Staypuff", that one's my favorite. Though you're greatly exaggerating to suggest the Devils board is consumed with HL. You dont hear much about him unless the Devils play the Rangers, (i.e. tonight).

Benedict- I went over to your board and you guys were talking about his wife being pregnant. I think that's all that needs to be said about Devil fans' collective obsession with Hank.

None of our other division rivals were walking about it.

BG, for like 3 years every time Lundqvist would let in 3 or more goals in any non-Devils game...

You know what, it doesn't really matter any more, considering Lundqvist gives up 3 goals only once every 10 games or so now.

Oh man, those 5 posts about his wife being pregnant..watch out! Come on man, really?

And one of them was us trying to give up players for his unborn child.

And yes, it literally was 5 posts, I checked.

jokes about his wife having an open 5 hole and scoring rather than shooting high because she wasn't using a glove?

I must be obsessed.
