We'll probably never know what Slats' final offer was to CBJ, but I'm glad the arsenal of good prospects we have is still intact....

I'm giving the team the benefit of the doubt for now. If they choke in the playoffs, off with their heads!!!!!

Then you just want to make a trade for trading sake? Mike Mottau?
Every single player on that list would adress a need. A 6th/7th d-man who's NOT a worthless fighter. Secondary scoring in McGinn or Kostistyn. A faceoff-specialist, defensive center in Gaustad. Extremly important when the going gets tough.

Teams wanted way too much this year. The Rangers did good to stand pat.

Should have traded our second round pick for Wolski. Sure he's having a down year but he's got a track record of starting hot on new teams and we need secondary scoring.

Sather will leak out his (and Columbus's) final offer to Brooks to make Howson look like an idiot.

Actually John Scott (like Boogey did) doesn't fight much anymore. Other teams tough guys want no part if him, so his 3 or 4 minutes a night can be very uneventful.

He played against the Rangers for the Hawks last week. Anybody notice??

Only deal I feel we dropped the ball with was Kostitsyn. I would've given what Nashville gave plus Yogan/MZA or whatever.

Of course the team has the benefit of the doubt. The high and mightier crowd around here just want to act like they're better fans than the rest of us.

I have absolute faith Hank CAN win us a cup. I don't have faith some of the other guys on the roster will show up and help him, though.

And yeah, if we choke, something needs to be done.

McGinn has 13 points in 59 games.
Kostiisyn has 24 points.

You want to trade a #1 pick for Guastad? Really? To each his own but I wouldn't.

The Rangers are building something here. They are, to me, ahead of schedule. They don't need to make these trades for this year. Hold on to that #1 pick, maybe you can package it this summer for a guy like Ryan or maybe Nash. Or just keep it and draft another player. They seem to be on the right track when it comes to draft picks.

Edit: McGinn has 24 points. My bad. He had 13 last year.

Just because you think Dubinsky is invaluable doesn't make you a better fan. Get over yourself, jesus christ.
Because you're wrong. You think the Stanley Cup is made out of paper. It's not. And this organization has better vision than you do. I know you don't believe that, but read Plato's allegory of the cave. You're still in the dark.

Still trying to figure out why none of the mods have posted the Kassian/Hodgson trade in the Trade Rumors section... What's up with that?

So basically you're admitting that the Rangers can't/won't win the cup this year? That you're happy with just having a 'bright' future - which by the way, nobody knows **** about?

Greedy friggin Rangers fans. Shut your mouths. They went from being lucked into the 8th seed to the top of the EC standings in less than a year.

There's a reason why this team was worthless for a decade. Some of us lived through two generations of pathetic hockey, and it sucked.

Yeah, I'm bummed they didnt improve certain areas, but it's obvious we all misunderstood or miscalculated the market.

Craig Mactavish -- one of the best defensive centers in the game in 1994and a multiple Cup winner -- was acquired for a low-round prospect.

In 2012, he would have cost a 1st and 2nd...maybe more.

We got a good team. Screw these loser GM's and their loser teams and their loser fans. Let's focus on the Cup and home ice throughout the EC.

Breaking News: All but one of the teams that made a move today will not win the cup and its possible every single one fails to win the cup.

Funny you'd mention Plato. I just read the Republic again and remembered how much I hate him.

I don't think the Stanley Cup is made out of paper. It's not made out of hugs and kisses and rainbows either, because what is all the chemistry in the world going to get us if Gaborik and Callahan are the only ones scoring and Lundqvist has to go against Crosby and Malkin? You'd do good to realize that.

I wanted Gaustad. I really wanted him, but no way I wanted him for a first round pick. I'm fine with the way this turned out. I don't see us making the SC finals, but I see us bulding for a very credible cup run next year. So let's hope there's no lockout.

Alright buddy, whatever you say. Wonder how Hank feels after getting no goal support in the playoffs over the past 3 years.
