If it was an offer along those lines they would be out of their damn mind to refuse it.

Howson now claiming that Nash asked to be traded, not the other way around.

Wow. Either this whole thing is going to kind of go away, and Nash will settle or it is going to be a living nightmare for both player and franchise for the next 3 months.

"The price is high, that's all I'm gonna say."

Actually, Scott, I think you're pretty high and that's all I'm gonna say.

I'm pretty much ecstatic that we didn't make a move for Nash with the rumored price tag, it was well in the insane territory. His cap hit is already not very appealing to begin with, didn't want them to break this team just for landing him.

See what's up on the UFA market during the off season, and continue full speed ahead with this awesome team. They still hold the best winning percentage, no? Don't fix if it ain't broken.

Does it really matter what Howson said?

1)Is he coming back as the GM?

If not... the franchise is better served to let the next GM make the decisions for the team.

2)In either case, Does it help the Rangers?

On the NHL network they said that it was Dubinsky, Erixon, Bickel and two firsts, one of them conditional. Not sure if it was speculation or insider info.

Howson is such an incompetent GM. Well, I guess that's why CBJ is where it is.

Brooks is reporting:

Columbus GM Scott Howson rejected what is believed a Rangers' final offer of Dubinsky, 21-year-old defenseman Tim Erixon, 2011 first-rounder J.T. Miller, 2010 second-rounder Christian Thomas and a first-round selection in this June's Entry Draft.

Way to go, Howson. A building block C/LW under contract for several more years, 3 top prospects, and a 1st round draft pick.

My question: Who called the offer "mammouth" (that knew the actual deal)?
No one, lol. Dreger put some bs buzz word next to it too. It was something like "indications say Rangers made mammoth offer".

Who fed him that, or did he just make it up?

Because if you talk to Sather's people, I'm sure the offer was "mammoth" but if you talk to Howson's people it was probably "miniscule".

I'd love to turn this into a thread where we call out all the bs speculation reported by "credible sources".

"95% chance Nash gets traded" - Stay the **** away from Vegas.

If that's the case, then we owe Howson and Patrick for saving us from our own GM. Too steep, but what the hell were they thinking turning that down???

One of the stupidest figures in sports history. Nash's value just dropped immensely because you admitted that he wants out. ****ing idiot.
