They wanted Kassian and we don't have a Kassian? The Canucks didn't trade Hodgson for the fun of it. They traded him to address a need. We have no players that come close to offering what Kassian can.

If we haven't resigned him by now, why would he come back instead of hitting the market and getting as much money as he can? Its not like this team is going to be offering him a great chance at a cup next year.

That doesn't mean anything

Using that logic, nobody would EVER resign with a rebuilding team or a team struggling to make the playoffs. Players don't just consider the success of the team when they decide where to play. Yeah, he might get better offers on the open market but if he has expressed intent to stay and the Habs need him, doesn't mean they have to resign him two months ago.

Not so bad. We sell Cammy, Gill, and A. Kost for decent returns and improve our chances in the next two drafts. Also 2nd round picks are good currency and allow us some purchasing power when the next trading period opens.

Leblanc and Weber I'm guessing? But Vancouver wanted grit in Kassian.

We did found a more stupid GM than Gauthier. Howson openly admitting that Nash asked him to be traded. Great end of season. Great way to attract players so that chances are if as a GM I can't do a thing, I'll throw you under the bus. And a great way to have a lot in return in the upcoming summer.

There's clearly 2 new GM jobs openings coming near you in the spring.

Nobody wanted him in the summer, our geniuses wanted him in late fall and still no one else with any hockey sense wanted him at the trade deadline. Plus him we have Gomez and Kaberle that will be have to be bought out. Reach into your pockets Mr Molson.

I agree. It's really too bad he was injured, as there seems to have been a big premium on tough players with size this year. Moen's not really a fighter (although he's competent when he does go), but he's strong as a horse and basically impossible to intimidate. I think he would've brought a 2nd+.

Is there anyone worse than ****ing Darren Dreger?

I missed Burke presser, but can tell you Tor could have traded Schenn,Kulemin,MacArthur and Grabovski for 1st round picks.
What a crock of ****. Yeah like the Habs can't offer Subba, Patches, Eller or Pleks for 1st round picks? What non-news. God I hope he gets discovered for the non-insider he really is. He's worse than Eklund.

According to McKenzie, teams were still calling with interest in Moen despite his injury, and were told he is not available.

I am happy to see Gaustad gone. Probably say the same for Kassian. Although I think Kassian is closer to Neil then Lucic. We have a tough division and BUF gave up a lot of grit and toughness today. They are trying to out-tank us.

Hodgson is a nice pick-up. He seems like he will fit in with the Sabres.

The Canucks board is how I figured this board would be after the lack of Habs deals.. They are irate at trading Hodgson.

There was supposedly a clash of philosophies between Gauthier and Gainey (was discussed earlier this morning). Gainey wanting to part ways with AKost but comfortable with the rest of the team. Maybe someone could get the right link or tweet?

Whether Gainey had more pull in the war room or not, what unfolded today is congruent with Gainey's philosophy (maybe it's just a coincidence).

Moen has post-concussion syndrome, he's not eligible to be traded anyway. On se calme.
