Best defensemen in OHL

Which defensemen in the OHL do you think has a shot at becoming a top 4 Dman in the NHL with offensive upside? A few names could be Staal, Kindl, Lashoff, Sanguinetti...unfortunately, I haven't seen any of them play. Also, what do you guys think of Marc Katic?

Out of that group, offensively, I have to say Staal.

Katic is good. Must mention Drew Doughty in the same breath though if you're talking about 16 year olds with offensive upside. Drew has offensive instincts I haven't seen since...well...any of the great rushing defenceman.

Offensively the best of those you mentioned is Sanguinetti, overall Staal followed by Kindl.

Doughty and Katic are both impressive, especially Doughty, IMO.

I know you asked about "offensive upside", but for the record the OHL's best defensive defenseman is easily Ryan Parent.

I've seen Parent play only once and must say that I was impressed with him. He plays a sound positional game and boy is he fast. Wonder if his shot improved over last year?

Parent is the best d-man in the league. Offensively, Andrej Sekera or Patrick McNeill.

His shot is improved, most definitely...but you'd never know it because the Guelph defencemen have a problem shooting the puck AT ALL. But that's a topic for another day.

Parent is the best defensive defenceman in the OHL. I'd rather have him over a guy who puts up lots of points. Forwards can do the scoring.
