Neckguard for a short neck?

I know this is a strange question, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is my first season playing womenís rep hockey and Iíve been told that all female players are required to wear neckguards in training and games. I have a bauer neckguard but I donít normally wear it because I have a very short neck, and the neckguard is simply too long to be comfortable Ė it bunches up when I lower my head and I feel like I can't breathe! Does anyone know of any brands that do a shorter neckguard?

What a lot of people in my league do is just fold it in half and tape around it so it's essentially half the size hahaha.

I had the same problem. My neck isn't small enough for a junior, so I have a senior L/XL. New ones are really stiff, so I washed mine in the washer a bunch of times and in between washes I squished and twisted it. Now it's soft and thinner. Much more comfy.

Go get one of the Bauer core undergarments with the neck guard built in. Its soft and flexible and not even as tight as a turtleneck. We sell the heck out of them at my shop to kids (and adults) that hate wearing a regular neck guard.

You'll be happy with it. http://www.bauer.com/gear/accessories/performance

ooooh...I'll definately look into that. In the mean time I have indeed taped it in half my coach didn't even notice, my neck is that nonexistant!

I'm a 5'6 woman and wore one of those kids hard collars the first 3 years I played. Of course I am bigger than a ten year old so had to wear it right at the end as opposed to overlapped an inch.

Buy a thrift store turtleneck, cut off the neck part.

Things are useless outside of extremely rare freak accidents anyway.
