Good cap hit for a full time 4th liner.

I'm happy with this signing. Good length, good cap hit. And no NMC/NTC!

Yep, it's a good signing. Jackman is a very good 4th liner and he knows his role.

So that's why Feaster didn't make any trades today. Busy locking up key players.

Seriously, I'm happy we're keeping him around.

No, he really is not. Not this season anyways.

He has been nothing short of terrible all season long, and his play up to this point has not justified such an extension. He has actually been a detriment to our lineup based on his statistics up to this point.

I would have personally proffered to sign Tom Kostopoulos to a one year deal, and let Jackman walk in the summer ( He should have been traded today, in my view )

Oh well, I hope that means Kostopoulos is not resigned now as Lance Bouma has definitely earned a full time spot on our team moving forward.

I dont like the term, I would have been fine with one year.

A fairly decent signing. Good term and a good cap hit. Even if you have to waive him and send him to the minors that contract won't hurt that much. Hopefully Jackman regains the edge that made him so valuable to the team last season. Could be a steal of a contract if he ups his game.

There have been quite a few games this year where the entire team stinks up the joint, except for Jackman who would be the standout Flame.

That 4th line with him on it seems to give other teams a real tough time every so often.

I dig this contract

If wasn't going to be traded I'm glad he's sticking around.

Very Constructive.

What happened to the so called meritocracy system that Jay Feaster has consistently blabbered on about? It's not so much the deal itself that is the problem, but the principle in rewarding a player who has been nothing short of a massive disappointment this season and based on his play has not earned a spot over players like Lance Bouma and Tom Kostopoulos.

Tim Jackman has one goal on the season, and a horrid -18 rating playing against other teams fourth line players(occasionally third line). By all accounts there was a league wide interest in Jackman, so yes I do think we missed out on an opportunity to sell high on an asset that can be easily replaced from within.

Im not all that crazy about Jackman getting a 2 year extention, but anyone who thinks Lance Bouma is better than or even, equal to Jackman or Tom Kostopoulos, you homers are idiots.

Lance bouma, while he isnt terrible, i just don't even see the aggressive tenacity which he is supposedly touted for... when he was ask, "what kind of a player are you?" you know one of those adnauseum questions rookies are suppose to have an answer for, anyway, Lance Bouma claims that he is a "physical player" and "bit of an agitator", but, cept for the phill game, I can't recall many games where i have noticed his "physciality." He did have a fight, finally, yes, though he is not very good at pugilism, and maybe thats why he shies away from it. I guess its easier to create a reputation like "a physical player" harder to play that way all the time. To me, Lance bouma is Brandon Prust without the heart. I have nothing aginst bouma, but we need to quit over rating our players all the time. its not only not true, its annoying.

No one wants to trade with us because we have really nothing anyone wants. Get it? The team has been ruined by Sutter and the owners, current GM, the lawyer, banking on propaganda and cute soundbites to get through another predictible year of no show. Next year the same mediocrity will most likely play out as we probly wont deal kipper, iggy or jbo in the summer time, come autumn, same stuck record playing with more concerned sounding excuses.......Anyway, Iggy is too old and habitually lazy, Kipper, cept for this season, sucked for years and years. We should have traded them years ago, but shoulda, coulda, woulda is in the twilights now.
How much can we expect for them NOW? Not as much as most egocentric homer fans think.

I'm being a biased "homer" because I believe Lance Bouma is ready for a 4th line role?

Also, did you just insinuate that Lance Bouma plays without heart? The guy is the epitome of a heart and soul type player.

To be quite honest, I am not exactly sure who or what your posted was directed towards because frankly you flew way of the topic...

the epitome.......... grandiose if not out and out exaggeration.

I dont mean Bouma is gutles, he is physical but no more physical than a player like a Datsyuk, TJ Oshi, and lot less than a guy like Ott, Hardnell, Jackman, Kosto, etc.

How many players in the NHL would tangle with homo-neanderthalus Steve Maclntyre like Prust did, huge heart and nuts.

Sorry, I am not calling anyone in here homer, just was reading some homer flames sites and maybe I got frustrated.

Looks like nux picked up a real tough young player, Zack Kassian, maybe deterrent against the BBBs, and Lucic hahhaa .. at least we have Lance Bouma, the Lion Hearted.

Fair enough signing. Jackman is a basic 4th line energy player and signed as such. Low enough cap hit that if someone better comes along, he can get dropped off as the 13th/14th forward.
