I don't know if he is even available, but there are some unofficial rumors that Edmonton might be looking at getting Gerber or Biron. If so, Salo might be available. Would Avs be interested in him? He has struggled a bit, but Edmonton's defense has as well. He has playoff experience and can steal games by himself. He is under $4 million i think so he is expensive but not outlandish.
Are you interested and if yes, what would you pay for him?
I'm just curious...
considering cechmanek and others were had for a 2nd and are much much better than salo, a 2nd for him would be over paying. for a goalie who gives up goals from center, is getting overpaid, and is sucking so bad, i wouldn't give up more than a 4th for him. then again, i don't want him at all.
Personally, I think Salo needs to go somewhere else. I don't believe he feels confident with the Oilers anymore and vice versa.
The more I see Aebischer, the more I think the Avs will need to add a veteran. And any trade for a veteran goalie will have to include a goaltender going the other way. There's no way around that.
totally agree with you lappy. in fact, it would be desirable to use aebi as trade bait rather than keep him on the team when/if he's usurped as the avs no. 1 guy. it would hurt the avs to have an unhappy backup...don't believe me? ask the wings how uncomfortable that situation can be.
