Dont forget Lars Molin who had 98 points in 172 points for Vancouver in the early 80s. Born and raised in Örnsköldsvik, his first was MODO of course.

Lars Lindgren joined Vancouver in the summer of 78 and stayed for five season. Between 74 and 78 he played for MODO. Lindgren is from Piteå however.

Maybe Vancouver should use their pick in the first round this summer to draft Ludvig Byström, product of MODO.

There is a scary number of people that think that we overpaid for Pahlsson because we threw in Ellington.

I don't even...just...

Who are these people? Nobody has said anything of the sort in this thread, at least. A couple of posters have said they wish the Canucks had found a way to dump an even worse contract, such as Tochkin's.

I'm hoping it's the twelve year olds at CDC. I guess they might not understand there's such a thing as negative value.

No one of importance, of course. Callers on TEAM1040 and twitter. I try my best to ignore people who obviously don't know what they're talking about but it's not always easy. I agree it would have been better moving Tochkin. Ellington's contract was done this summer so moving it didn't do much since we're not going to be able to add anyone with that freed up contract spot (well, waiver possible but won't happen).

Mostly call-ins on team 1040 saying how he was a 2nd round pick (while knowing nothing about him).

It says a lot about how awful the 2007 draft was for the canucks that Ellington, probably their best selection in that draft, is traded basically without comment from the fans. So long Taylor.

Have hope for Taylor Matson!

He hasn't been terrible for Minnesota this year and he is their captain. Although he's certainly not worth a Canucks contract. Outside (and I do mean outside) chance Gillis asks the Wolves to sign him.

I've seen what Sami can do when he's given that role as a defensive forward who can shut down whoever he plays. He's won at every level he's been at — Olympics (2006), Stanley Cup (2007) and the Swedish championship — and knows what it takes.

Pahlsson can shadow people and check, theres no doubt about that. But we already had people in bottom 6 that can do that like Hansen, Manny, Lappy. Taking out Coho and replacing him with Pahlsson is a huge hit to the secondary goals.

Anybody see Pahlsson's reaction on TSN? He seemed rather indifferent and unenthused with this trade.

Secondary scoring and the 2nd unit PP likely will go down. Faceoffs, penalty killing and even strength defense should all improve. More possession, more offensive zone faceoffs and less of David Booth going up against good offensive players. That's important - Booth has looked as bad as Cody defensively.

Lost in all this is the potential impact of Steven Reinprecht. If the Canucks want to ice a more offensive team he might be a legitimate option come playoff time. Management seems pretty impressed with what he's done in Chicago.

I`ll admit it... I had no idea he had the capacity to shoot the puck like this:

Put him on the point with Salo on the PP and just let them fire one-timers on net for the entire two minutes.

I don't think any of us should be expecting much from Reinprecht.
