Tom Gilbert is making his debut for the Wild on TSN2 in about ten minutes.

It's a good deal, we added something we sorely needed. Not sure why it takes 1000 posts to realize that.

Maybe it's more about who made the deal than who was dealt?

Is shultz apart of the future or just for his contract to run out. He is only 29 which would mean he will still be a good player for a number of years. I do not feel like going through 1000 posts so what are we looking to expect in the future?

Tambo better get a puck moving d-man in the summer.

Smid Schultz
Petry Sutton
Potter Teubert (?)

Is what our blueline next year would look like if/when Whitney gets hurt

On the other end of that, if Whitney stays healthy... How many PMD do we need?

Gilbert just got his ass dangled by... Penner! And takes a penalty on the play.

Question was obvious. Being that you think Pety is better than Gilbert how do you think Minnesota would have reacted if it was Petry being offered for Schultz INSTEAD of Gilbert.

Myself I bet the Wild wouldn't make that deal.

Actually I didn't mean it sarcastically, I was just pointing out that you didn't answer my question.

Even with Whitney in an ideal world the Oilers add another top 4 d-man. I know we are all big on Petry, but there isn't anything wrong with having him on the bottom pairing next year. Probably would be good for his development. And if he takes a big step and plays lights out, than there is nothing wrong with having Whitney/other top 4 d-man on the back end.

Any Gilbert sympathizers watching the Wild game? He's off to a roaring start.

Petry is MUCH better than Gilbert, you've got blinders on Replacement.

Sorry...I thought I did answer it. Which part are you unhappy with?

EDIT: Just reread the post. I read that as what would my reaction had been if Petry was offered.

As for the Wild reaction...its a moot point.

Other than the entertainment value I am not really all that concerned with what their reaction will be after watching Gilbert perform his defensive magic in a Wild uniform either.

Whitney-Smid
Petry-Schultz
Sutton-Potter
Barker-Peckham (likely both gone soon)

Teubert-Chorney
Klefbom-Marincin
Musil-Gernat
Bigos-Plante
Blain-Davidson
Tulupov-Simpson
Fedun (wildcard)

Oilers certainly have a lot of dman "bodies" in the system. Adding a Dumba/Murray/Reinhart/Rielly/Trouba to the mix will only make the dman prospect pool even stronger.

I honestly think the Oilers should have more concerns about their upcoming forward prospects than the dman pool.

Do you think Minny makes the same deal with Petry instead of Gilbert?

Just realized DP is short for Delicious Pancakes and Dustin Penner... I'm sure someone else has brought that up but made myself chuckle.

Probably a offensively inclined d-man whose name starts with a 'C'...
Carle (from Alaska)
Clark (from Sask)
Colaiacovo
Campoli
Clefbom

In other news.. TO goaltending still sucks. Reimer lets in 2 of the first 4 shots he faces in the game at home.
