Do you think Minny makes the same deal with Petry instead of Gilbert?
I believe the Wild do, and happily. We're looking at a player on a similar developmental curve who, at five years younger, is producing at a similar rate with similar TOI and will command much less than $4M a season as an RFA. He would have represented a long-term solution to their PMD problem. Also a home-town guy to boot.

I said from minute one, that Eddy won the Schultz-Gilbert trade.
Never wanted Gilbarf, and his play already confirms that I was correct.

I really want Gilbert to do well and I was very excited about his season this year. I almost felt sorry for the guy watching him this period. He's replaced a team favourite and really **** the bed so far. So much for good first impressions.
lol, you will have to talk to Replacement about that, he's one of the only ones that didnt want him traded (for whatever reason).

Gilbert isn't a bad player. We all praised him earlier in the season. He's just inconsistent. When he's on, he's a physical PMD who is good defensively. When he's off, he's soft as a pillow, lost in the d-zone and his breakout passes suffer.

It was more the first period. Gilbert's D-partner is a non-NHLer, Falk. Gilbert wasn't much better tho.
