Ok Flame you got yourself a deal-- now is the col deal fair with their fans?? Since Weimer is now on the Wild these 3 moves save the isles 4.6 million dollars.

As an Avalanche fan, I think it's a fair trade value-wise though the Avs would need a legitimate third line forward in return instead of Justin Papineau.

However, I don't think a move like this would go down because Alex Tanguay currently leads the NHL in points. It would be a dumb, dumb move to trade Tanguay at this point in time when he's been arguably our best forward.

He has the most points, but he is not your best forward. Come on Foresberg, Sakic, Karria, Saleane, etc.... I am not a fortuneteller, but he will never be as good or even close to any of the guys listed above.

I agree Tanguay has played very well but with the forwards you have I thought he might be expendable--I also thought you might need an upgrade on your d, which Hamrlik will definately do for you. Unless you are going to use Tanguay as a chip to get a goalie I think this is a fair trade for both teams.

Perhaps you should learn to read things more closely.

I said Alex Tanguay has arguably been our best forward this year, and he has been just that. Ask any Avs fans who've watched him this year. He is much more physical and his amazing talent is really coming out. Peter Forsberg has been out lately and Tanguay has led our offense game in and game out.

Your quote is above, you wrote it. He has the most point my friend, but he is not your best forward.

There's often a difference between who your best forward is and who has been playing AS your best forward. He's not trying to say Tanguay is their best forward, he's saying he's been their best THIS season.

Take the Flames. Iginla is our best forward. Has he been playing as our best forward this year? Nope.

We were all surprised when this happened. But, the bottom line is $. Isles are trying to shrink their payroll and apparently had to unload Wiemer's contract in a hurry. Most Islander fans are pretty angry about the situation.
Anybody else think that someone would of given up a decent draft pick (at least a 3rd rounder) for Weimer? He's only making $1.6M, which is less than the league average. I realize he tops out at an effective 3rd liner, but he's a guy that any team could use IMO.
