I wouldve traded Gardiner, Kadri, Mac + 1st for Nash
People keep comparing Nash to Lindros/Neiwndyuk/Leetch/Nolan
But he's not comparable to these guys, because he's signed for long term, he's more consistent, he's much younger and he wants to be in Toronto.
Oh well, I'm glad we kept our 1st.
I also think Gardiner is HIGHLY overrated. I remember going through the same thing with Reimer and Schenn and many other players. Next year he may not be as good, and people will be screaming that we should trade him for a 2nd round pick.
oh lord good thing your not burke. I would like to keep out future top 5 pick thank you.
This caller is retarded. We cheer alright. But lately, do u think the leafs have given us much to cheer for. Heck western canada even cheered for them and they still lost. We spend our money and thats a lot. We used to support our team but can u blame us for giving the leafs a peace of our mind?

This team just allowed 5 goals to the florida panthers in a must win game.
Wasn't about scoring more, its about keeping them out of our net.
Nash is a good summer option, but he wasn't the difference between making the playoffs this year or not.
This is what I've never understood about those people who are frothing at the mouth about not giving up a ton of assets to land Rick Nash.
We have so many glaring problems with our lineups that need to be worked out. If we were sitting in 2nd or 3rd in the East and we're stringing together wins, then yes, I could see moving some of our prospects and potentially our draft pick for Nash.
But we're not there, we aren't even in the ballpark. We are most likely going to fall down the standings into bottom 5. Because of this, I am insanely happy that we have held onto our 1st round pick.
We made the mistake of thinking our team was better than it was before. Trading the future for Nash because a bunch of bipolar fans want to get murdered in the first round of the playoffs is not the answer.
And I'm not entirely sure that's what would've happened anyways. If we would have got Nash, I think we still would have been as good, but probably worse, than we are now. We would have sank to the bottom of the standings and watched Columbus get two early picks instead of one.
