Hall - RNH - Eberle

Penner - Gagner - Hemsky

I would bring back Penner for one year to rejuvenate his career. I can't see Smyth or Paajarvi on that line next season.

Sutton will be the Oilers 6th defenceman next year. We are trying out Barker and Potter to see if either are capable of being #5.

Yea after a 5 second pause. Obviously he doesn't want to throw him under the bus but Renney surely knows Barker was awful tonight. At least I hope so. I guess we'll find out when we see if he's back in the lineup Friday.

The guy is a veteran - we saw tonight what we got. Solid defensively, able to make the out pass, and properly activated himself in the offensive zone to keep the play going.

"Barker was okay. We need to work with him a bit on his reads and footspeed." --- Renney.

Tencer disagrees, saying Barker isn't looking like an NHL defenseman. Honestly, I'm shocked.

That was my first thought about Barker as well. They're still auditioning him but unfortunately for him his flaws and his gaffs are bloody apparent every, single game. His ass should be stapled to the pressbox until the end of the season barring injuries. There's no excuse for him to be in there.

I'm not even going to watch the Dallas game if he's in the line-up.

Not surprised about Rennys comments. He can't throw anyone under the bus, besides, he doesn't want to show up the GM who signed barker in the first play. That would mean the GM would have to admit he made a mistake, and that will never happen.

No thanks. This team needs to be competing for a playoff spot next season, so no more "experiments". I want Paajarvi there.

Nick was okay tonight, but looked nervous. It was his debut in Edmonton and he had a ton of friends and family at the game, so obviously that accounts for it.

I like that he showed a little offense tonight. I hope that means Renney is giving him the option to join the rush. This is something he never had in minnesota.

I don't think throwing the guy under the bus would help anyway. Doesn't strike me as the type of player who'd respond positively to that.

Whitney - Schultz
Smid - Petry
Barker/Potter - Sutton

lol.

I don't think that's what's going on. At the very least Sutton and Potter will be battling for the 6th D while a draft pick/Free agency signing will be taking over for Barker.

I'd like to see Potter traded, Kubina signed and Murray drafted.

Smid - Petry
Murray - Schultz
Whitney - Kubina
Sutton

Yay, my tummy feels better after finishing my drink on the goal Barker gave to STL.

I would be willing to bet Penner helps the Oilers fight for a playoff spot more than Paajarvi.

Edit: For the 2012-'13 season, hypothetically.

Depends which PRV we get, the good one or the one we've seen most of this season. Still don't get why he was demoted after actually playing well

He won't throw anyone under the bus? Right before he said Barker was okay, he just finished a rant toward the young guys because of the breakaway that occurred when the puck was turned over at the end of their dominant shift. How about Hemsky doesn't get off the bench and skate right into Hall? Renney you ****ing idiot.

I believe the vein in the side of Renney's head started pulsing just before finishing the sentence...

He should have said "Tambo, you brought this junk in here, I'm going to play him on a regular shift to make sure you don't entertain any thoughts of bringing this slug back next year".

He also said Eberle plays a smart game with a lot of quickness. His linemates tonight are not able to complement that. The only good shift Eberle had (again, according to Brown) was one time when he found himself with Nuge and Hall, and they dominated. He needs to play with players like that.

Yeah the stupidity needs to end. We have what 19 games left? Play MPS in the top six the rest of the way.

We need to know where he is at going into next training camp.
