I really hope

We don't end up playing Pittsburgh in the playoffs.
Nothing against them and last time was a pretty good series, but I'd rather the Senators play another team. It could turn into this decade's Ottawa/Toronto matchups.

All we need to do is erect another mural of "Sens Win!" outside the vistor's locker room it worked last time right?

Especially if Crosby is back! I don't want Boston or Pittsburgh. I wouldn't even mind the Rangers or Flyers or Devils. Obviously the best would be Winnipeg or Florida.

Florida would be nice. Although we'd match up pretty well against Pittsburgh without Crosby. Just no Boston!

I feel like the General consensus is please no Boston or Pittsburgh. I don't see how any team would honestly say "ya bring on Malkin!" he is as good as he wants to be.

Rangers or Florida and I'd be pretty satisfied.

Two differences:
1) We've already beaten Pittsburgh in the playoffs before, so we wouldn't go 0-4 against them.
2) Unlike CuJo and Belfour, who have both put up some unreal performances against us... MA Fleury is our *****!

Regular season career = 20gp, 7-8-1, 3.57, 0.892
06-07 playoffs = 5gp, 1-4, 3.77, 0.880
07-08 playoffs = 4gp, 4-0, 1.26, 0.956
09-10 playoffs = 6gp, 4-2, 2.75, 0.890

One good stat line against us versus an 07-08 team going into the playoffs on a death spiral.

Haven't you ever noticed how much we face Brent Johnson when we play them?

Bleh, no thanks.

As for Pittsburgh, I'll take a Crosby-less and Letang-less Penguins team over NYR/BOS/Philly anyday.

One more injury, and they're easy picking.

well we are going to have to face NYR, Boston FLA or Pitts

Pitts is fine especially if Letang/Crosby are out.

Best case is FLA but you can't aim for something like that, Just happy if it isnt Boston

I always look at the goalies we would face.

Thomas/Rask
Lundqvist
Fleury

Clemmensen is our best bet.

It'd be boring to play Pittsburgh again, just because we'd done it so much, but playing any playoff games at all will be awesome.

Ultimately, I think that the games in hand will bite us in the ass and we'll play NYR or Bos.

- NYR might decide to collapse around Lundqvist and bore us to death... yes, even with Tort's coaching.

- Bos might try to physically intimidate this team... uhhh, good luck. We're big and bad. Come get some!@#*$%^@

I'm not expecting to win the first round at all, but a knock-down, drag-out war of attrition in the 1st round against Boston could be highly entertaining and earn a lot of respect around the league.

Haven't we played pretty good against NYR this season? Can't remember them dominating us or something like that..

W 5-4 in October
L 3-2 in November
W 3-0 in January

two of those games was before we started playing a better team defense and Anderson getting hot. I like our chances against them.

next game coming up next week at SBP

Just being in the playoffs would be golden, however I would not want to play Winnipeg (I would still take them over Boston, Pittsburgh and NYR). In theory matching up against Winnipeg would mean Ottawa in 6th and Winnipeg in 3rd, meaning Winnipeg is home.

It is hard enough for teams to go in there in the regular season and win games, just think what that place will be like in the playoffs.

Boston
Florida
Winnipeg

This, and more importantly, when they're on their game (especially Anderson), there's very few teams the Sens couldn't beat.

Boston is the only exception as Thomas historically has played so well against us for so long that he has an almost inhuman like efficiency in there. It's shown a couple times this year that we can be the better team and still lose (or almost lose) to the Bruins with Thomas in nets.

NYR, Pitts, Philly, Fla, Wsh, Nj or Wpg is fine, I'm happy the Sens are there and hope they play their best.

Refs.

The only reason I don't wanna play Pittsburgh. They'll determine the outcome.
