I'd love to get a look at Scott here, but he's really not needed at all in this one. Who on Carolina will do anything?

Second game of the year for me, I will be in section 102 just to the right of the Rags bench. We got Biron last time they were here, so I am hoping to see Hank, but I know that the odds are not that great with the Canes being crap this year. Oh well, LGR!

No Rags please. It's derogatory.

I have been a fan since 1974, when did saying "Rags" become derogatory?

It is. When opposing fan posters come here and refer to us as Rags, it is seen as derogatory.

I guess because it refers to the team as a bunch of Rags, which can be seen as old and dirty.

OK, so it sounds like basically its an internetz thingy. Whatever, I have been a fan for 38 years, been going to games since the mid 80s, I will call them what I choose, it is obvious I didn't mean it in a bad way.

It actually refers to the term "On the Rag," or a woman being on her period for those who don't know. That's why I hate it. I understand that some people may have been using it before it came to mean that, but that's what rival teams mean when they call us the "Rags." Mods don't even enforce it though. It's annoying. Not that the Lightning are rivals, but if they were, and we started calling them "Tampon Bay," we would get infractions for that.

Ok, time to get off my soapbox.

This is a game we absolutely should win, but if Biron is in net, I don't have confidence with the way he's been playing lately. He's been putting us in a hole early in games. I know some of the goals are just good shots, but he has to come up with the big save in those circumstances. If Biron plays solid and we don't give up a goal in the 1st ten minutes, I think we win easy. Give Carolina hope, and I think we have problems.

I think I'd go with Lundqvist in net tonight...important to get that win streak going again IMO, and Biron won the last time he played Tampa Bay at least

Wow....ok. When I was a kid, and we didn't like a team, we said the sucked...and then looked around to make sure no one heard us. Well, except the flyers, they were the bully's, but they wore that name with pride. I think you newer guys are too sensitive, but in respect for the board, I wont ever use that term here again, since I can call them about 1 million other names. I will stick with blueshirts for now, even though it makes no sense for me, since they wore home whites when I started watching.

Honestly, I don't feel I'm too sensitive, I just hate the double standard. Members of this board have had posts removed because they contain terms like "Debs," "Cryers," and "KC Drylanders," yet "Rags," which knowing the meaning seems worse than those, is let slide. I personally am not all the offended by any of those, but enforcing the rules for some nicknames and not others just bugs the crap out of me.

Think I'd go with Marty tonight, Hank tomorrow. Won't be upset if Torts flips it though.

Wouldn't want to see Marty try and stop one of Stamkos' shots, that's for sure.

Keep the winning streak going

I don't think we see Scott (unless Cally doesn't play) until either Sunday against Boston or Tuesday against NJ. Let's see Clarkson run around like a chicken **** that game

As for the game, Torts usually starts Biron on the 1st of back to backs. I expect that to continue and Hank to play tomorrow. Given who we're playing, I'm perfectly fine with that.
Yeah they played the panthers' radio broadcast over it. (and it was slightly delayed relative to the video, which was odd)

There is no way Calagary, a Canadian team, didn't have a broadcast (unless there was some sort of technical issue)

I actually imagine Rags came about as a shortening of Rangers for some reason, but I have nothing to back this up with, and it may well have developed as a slight against the team at the same time as well

I'd rather play Hank for a sure 2 points. I also believe who ever gets a shutout being Hank or Biron.. That guy should get to play next game.

Game may have been on PPV up there so Center Ice probably couldn't get the feed.

Will be a difficult one to win with no Callahan or Lundqvist.

If this team is for real, they should win these games. Man up and play team D. Protect Marty and his 5 hole
