Neither connect. As they turn to square up, Bobby Ryan comes in and starts throwing punches at Kaleta. Everyone else pairs up by the boards, Myers and Brookbank come out and start throwing. Myers clearly doesn't want to mess up his wrist, so after the first couple shots, they kinda just grappled.

How was the show? I've seen them a couple of times and am thinking of laying out to see them again.

What's bad, and here's what you youngsters have to look forward to in middle age: just the act of TRYING to stay up for a game leaves you feeling hungover the next morning!
No you didn't imagine it, during the Weber fight the score was displayed as 2-1, they corrected it though. Splendid job MSG...

Ennis said in his post-game that he didn't shoot at the empty net because he thought it was cody streaking with him hoping to get him his first.

I've seen them twice previously. Looking for a third, perhaps with a road trip to do it.

Just watched the highlights on Hockeyfights.com. Myers is clearly trying to keep from throwing rights and protect his wrist.

Jame did you DVR the MSG feed?

If so you may want to mute the Sylvestard.

I'm used to staying up late, and/or getting up early, so these West Coast games aren't too rough on me. My trick is to work late (up at 6AM, worked 8AM to 9:30PM, then watched game, went to bed at 1:40, slept in to 7AM today). By working late, I haven't mentally decompressed by gametime, so easier for me to stay up.

Most of this has been mentioned, but, in the 3rd as the Ducks poured it on and Sabres went to more of shell to protect 2-goal lead (we can debate the chicken/egg of that):
1. I don't think I saw a single odd-man rush on Miller at even strength.
2. Excellent BUF team defense from the trapezoid to the high slot. Kept the shots outside; only a couple came from down low / in close.
3. Miller with good rebound control, and the D cleared everything well.
4. Miller did NOT go down early, saw the puck well.
5. Excellent d-support covering gaps, tieing up Ducks in the slot, etc.
Yes, the Sabres had some issues clearing the zone, and yes, they generated few chances.

I saw Ennis' hesitation at Center ice, and I wondered what was up with that. Of course, I think they were down to a minute-twenty by then, and thought he just wanted to be sure-handed with the puck.

Maybe that's more defensible in a 2-0 game, but it's clearly a mistake. Ennis needs to be told to bury that next time.

We are going to see a lot of this until the off season. Teams want to test our toughness now that Goose is gone.

That makes sense during the game, not after it's over.

I really doubt teams are going to consciously think to test the Sabres toughness now that Paul Gaustad has been traded, if they're even conscious of that fact.

Nice!! One of my favorite bands. We're going to try to get tickets to one of the September NYC shows when they go on sale. I DVR'd the game and went to see one of my other favorite bands last night. We caught Jane's Addiction in Rochester.

Gaustad has 13 fights in the last 3 years. He has won 4 of them.
