Merely an educated guess. Doesn't sound like he'd play the full 4 years with a D1 team. Best to get him acclimated to the pro-style schedule while playing against more blue-chip talent.
I saw him a month or so back, and the kid looked much bigger then Jacob Trouba who is 6-1 to 6-2 range. Jones has to be around 6'5 as he was clearly taller then Trouba and looked bigger then Skjei who is 6'3 as well.
Come on Seth Jones you said you would make your decision by the end of February! Haha well I guess he is 50/50 right now and is planning on visiting UND soon which I would assume would be this weekend. After he visits he should make a decision. Can't wait to find out what he decides!

From everything I hear in A2, you guys are in good shape to land him.

Really hope he goes to Everett. If he went there and if Murray came back, it would be something.
Oh is that Ann Arbor? Also what exactly have you heard?
That he is a strong lean to the Sioux.
Although these CHL teams are willing to do anything it takes to land high end talent and as we learned at UM with John Gibson, not even an LOI means anything. Although I don't think cash is going to sway Jones, which is a good thing for the college programs pursuing him.
If he chooses Everett, that will be interesting because it could very well change what they plan on doing in regards to Ryan Murray....a guy I figure they would want to deal at some point soon.
Jones just tweeted that he is visiting UND Friday He also said it was an "official" visit...is he a senior? I assumed he was only a junior because of his birthday.

Reason: not today friday
If he's a junior then I would definitely agree that CHL would be better for his development. One year in the U and one in the NCAA wouldn't make sense as it seems like he might be NHL ready as an 18 year old. But if he's a senior, playing in the NCAA during his draft year would probably be just as good.
1 year at UND then he gets signed and plays in the NHL seems like a good thing to do
Seems like a waste for some guy who would spend 4 years at UND
Especially considering how far along he is in his development. He's a damn good player and would be a good candidate to play in the NHL following his draft in 2013.
It would be a plesant surprise for Sioux fans if he chose UND as most expect he'll go CHL.
With that said, if the decision was as easy as everyone makes it seem, he would have made up his mind months ago. There must be something about the NCAA route that he really likes and thinks he could benefit from. UND has a solid coaching staff and a great reputation within the NHL (GMs, coaches, scouts). Not to mention, the team plays in a world class facility that rivals those of NHL teams.

There is no denying that but does it not seem like a waste of a scholorship to someone who actually might get 4 years of a world class education from it?
I guess I am just being naive thinking Colleges are for learning nowadays

I think you are naive in the fact that you think a scholarship is "4 years", as they are only 1 year and are renewed. If Seth leaves after one season...that scholarship is free'd up the next season. No harm, no foul.
