Yes. I cheer, and always have, for what the team means..or was actually. The jersey. The crest. Memories of Gretz and Mess. Nothing to do with the city. Been there twice. I would rather live in my condo in Victoria than you give me Daryl Katz's mansion in Edmonton. Not kidding one tiny bit.
W/e, Im just glad we developed the strategy of trapping players here for 3 years after they first enter the NHL and have exclusive resign rights for the next 5 so after 7-8 years they get wives/girlfriends and kids who don't want to leave and make decisions for them to stay.
Detroits been using it for years
RNH has a girl from Red Deer, apparently; Hall and Ebs are taking girls home every night. The plan, it is working.
It's funny if you know girls in their age range. What is equally surprising is how much they get shot down.
I know more than a few "bar stars" who frequent both Oil ****** Roadhouse and any other club frequented by Oilers. With that said, I know what you are saying.
How in the world is this not trolling? This opinion is painfully daft as well as the typical elitist garbage we have to hear from people who live in Vancouver. But Victoria? LOL. Enjoy the millions of raw sewage being dumped into the ocean...it's quaint, like a town from the 18th century. Nice town. Backwards as heck. The vagrant ratio in Victoria is staggering considering its population. Just a scummy downtown outside of a nice museum area.
Victoria is like Red Deer with a body of water beside it.
Plus Victoria is where all the hipsters and hippies go. Couldn't pay me to live there

I like it in the summer. Everything is open late...you can wander around and people watch. Good fun. In the winter? A laugh. Everything on main street downtown was closed at 5pm. Like most backwards small towns with nothing to do. At least Victoria has Darcy's. That place is fun.

As an actual area, it could certainly be worse. The people suck
Ok Eddy Oiler I'm sick of reading "how crappy Edmonton is and how great Victoria is etc etc" first of all Victoria is nothing like LA and the comparison isn't even close, second of all the women out here are alot better and more of them(don't care about your 4 to 1 ratio),on an average people in Edmonton make alot more $$$ then people in Victoria.I find these British Columbians that bash our city need to take a long look in the mirror and realize " hey actually most of us are lazy, have jobs that pay us $10 an hour so we can't afford a house and are living paycheque to paycheque renting a place next to the needle exchange where it rains 7 months a year" trust me dude your sh*& stinks too.All this coming from a guy born and raised in Victoria and moved to Edmonton 7 years ago. This city of Edmonton has been great to me...friendly people, high paying job, house now in St.Albert...basically the opposite of what Victoria gave me.You can keep your crappy island.

I have my issues with Victoria. It's night and day with summer and winter. I've spent plenty of time in Victoria, and the summer is fun if you're travelling through. Lots of tourists/people. Winter? Lots of vagrants/rain. The whole pumping millions of tonage of raw sewage into the ocean is mind boggling.
