Real Team Toughness

When the team has toughness like they have now, how many 20-25 and 25-30 goal scorer's will show up??
Guys like Eller,DD, Plex, 20-25, guys like cole, max pac could easy reach 25-35.
Guys like Pk and markov, even kabs could reach 10-20.

Give the guys someone to watch their backs, you will have a winning team.
Third and fouth lines full of darche type players are not getting it done !!!

Add another shutdown and drop the mitt's, d-man along with a top 6 scorer
nx season and this will be a different team go in a different direction.

Eller hasn't scored 20 in a season, so you can't call him one.

so far since the callup of Geoffrion and our re-ntry goon... Plecanek had the luxury of playing with either Geoffrion / White or Geoffrion / Stauwhatever

and he get no PP time at all...

used that way, not a chance he'll score 20...

I think you're grossly overestimating the effect team toughness has on overall performance. That said, it does have an effect (Not as great an effect as you think) and it's nice to see us have it for once!

Now let's see someone destroy Clutterbuck for that knee on knee

I feel like a Bruins fan and I think I like it

It has happened against us so often... It's nice to see us being tough for a change.

Clutterbuck knee'd Bourque, though it looked like an accidental contact to me.

But yeah, I agree with OP. Another gritty bottom 6 player would be welcome (Gaustad, Prust). Add a scoring touch to the top 6 or the D, combine that with the return of Markov and you may have a successful next season.

Finally we're starting to see a Habs team that doesn't get intimidated easily. The rest will follow.

Yep, the same team toughness that saw Staubitz hugging the guy who just boarded Emelin...

Goons don't make a good team and certainly not magically make a 15 goals scorer into a 30 goals scorer... self policing is one big fat myth.

Comon, man, they were teameates a week ago.

Have you already forgot when Staubitz graped Malone from the bench and fighting Labrie after he hit Campoli?

During the great years of the Canadiens, they were kicking the ***** of both the big bad bruins and the broad street bullies. On the scoresheet and physically.

Rupp-Gaustad-White is what we should aim for.

Exactly. People don't think that because they think that they're essentially dumb sociopath felons on ice who are incapable of being "human".

Gauthier's ideal of what he calls a "Defense" is what led to those 3 goals.

Very pleased to see a tougher Montreal team on the ice. I know everyone wants the tank but I was happy as hell that we won this one.......even if it took a shootout and Setogouchi falling down to win it.

Go Habs Go.
