As bad as we've been throughout the year, at least we can say we're ahead of the leafs

The problem is, we have such a low amount of ROW. The tie breaker is based off of that then H2H matchups right? If it's H2H first, I think we could squeeze in, but if it's not, we're in dangerous territory in terms of getting in the 8th spot.

I know it won't happen but it's almost tempting to play Enroth Saturday so we have Miller ready for Winnipeg. Even the way he's playing, just incredible, we can't beat Vanouver with this pop gun offense.

Oh yeah. The abuse from their fans at me has been terrible this year.

I am going to expand this to: (GGBU) Great, Good, Bad and Ugly

Great:
Ryan Miller

Good:
Ennis, Hodgson and Stafford...best line for the Sabres tonight.
Christian Ehrhoff
Overall team defense. Even though they were outmatched offensively, they played a no quit game in their own end.
We passed Toronto in the standings
4 pts out of 8th place with 2 games in hand on Winnipeg
The Sabre's penalty kill

Bad:
Being outshot almost 2 to 1 for the second straight game
Winnipeg won
10:30 pm game starts

Ugly:
Sabre's powerplay

We were outplayed, yes. But the team defense was pretty good, at least in the last ten minutes. It wasn't quite shell mode. Still, we have been terrible at sustaining offensive zone pressure this year. That definitely needs to improve - hopefully it is addressed in the offseason.

That's the real tragedy.

To me, that goes hand in hand with the size issue. We have a few players who are decent along the walls, but I think that's where our size hurts us the most, where guys are pushing them off the puck and stopping cycles.

Yes, that and we're not all that fast. If you're small, you have to be fast and be very good at passing to sustain offensive zone pressure. We're not so good at either of those things. It's no wonder that the EHS line has been clicking, though. They've got Hodgson, who's an excellent passer; Ennis, who's very fast, and Stafford, who's a bit bigger and can win puck battles along the walls.

Good - obvious, we need to do EVERYTHING WE CAN TO KEEP MILLER IN A GOOD MINDSET......he is playing like a man possese, there is a thread on the main board praising him (some people are trolling) but mostly praise.

B- I didn't love leino tonight and I think he REALLY needs to get into a role on this team and start doing some things that we want him to do, especially since he doesn't look like scoring will be his thing, he's gotta find a reason for people to tolerate watching him.

u- ICING in the third period, man we COMPLETELY laid back and start way to early and the whole period was nerve racking and we made it so our goalie has to play the best game of him life in order to win....which he did, but we gotta control more of the play with the lead
