Since some posted their blue jays experience I mine as well...
Got to meet Arencebia, Cecil, Thames and Alomar. Got my '92 World Series DVD signed, Robbie Alomar card, a blue jays card thing that they give you (all except Alomar) and a baseball signed by all. You only get 1 per person but I was with my girlfriend and kid (20 months old, but HE COUNTS! ) so I got more. Way more people than I thought would, showed up.
Ace was there, too, and my kid noticed him before I did. Kept yelling at me and pointing. My kid was waiving and when Ace came over to get a pic with him he started crying
Out of all the guys, Cecil and JP were easily the friendliest (Robbie doesn't say much). JP signed my ball and then looks over at Robbie and goes "Hey Robbie?!? Robbie?!? You see this signature? *shows him the ball* It takes some good atheticism to be able to sign like this. I suppose you know nothing about athleticism, though!" Classic.
Oh and when we were done some guy working there gave my kid a little Blue Jays tuque. His first Blue Jays hat and he didn't want to take it off
The night ended with a parking ticket Ah well
Too bad Romero and Lawrie couldn't make the trip out East. I would have loved to meet those 2. Good experience, though
Just caught the end of it. Pretty dirty goal there with Drouin hooking up MacKinnon. MacKinnon looked like a lacrosse player there, diving through the crease.
Our most entertaining games have come against the best teams. Maybe these guys have a flare for the dramatic.
4-3 OT win over QUE
6-4 win Nate singlehandedly ***** QUE
Comeback against Victo
Shawi game
I haven't seen 9000+ in the Metro Center since what 2007? Hard to believe after last years pathetic excuse or a hockey team, that fans would want to come back. But they have and it's great amd should only increase what with next year being a contending year.
How good is Fucale? Lol just broke a record for most rookie goalie wins in the Q beating Olivier Roy. He and Nate and all the other young guns are something to behold.
I was at the game on Wednesday and the place was packed and loud, I had to get stuck infront of two drunk idiots who were singing "Ise the bye that builds the boat" but it was a terrible game the Moose got owned and the award show after was pretty cool Fucale took home 4 which was the most, Nate got 3
It was also pretty cool when Travis Randell got a standing-o when he got an award, Critchlow and Grenier got one but it wasnt nearly as loud and not as many people standing, my friend won the autographed Daigle jersey and he didnt even buy the tickets he got them from a guy outside who had extra's
Let's cross our fingers that Frk's okay. With Gillard coming back, and Hannay close, I really feel we are in a position to be a darkhorse. I know we will have more than our hands full should we make it to the Semi's against Saint John but:
KA - Hannay
Gillard - Lewis
Duke - Hardie
That's an above average team defense imo, something we've lacked all season.
This is actually a deeper forward group than expected going into the season. It doesn't have the same sexiness and firepower that the Sea Dogs has, but with proper line matches, we could take a few games at home.
Hannay and Gillard brings us lots of experience on defence that was absent during our 6-1 loss last week, and Duke/Hardie is a much much much better bottom pairing than Shewfelt and Randall.
Yesterday evening at the Pei/Halifax game, Mackinnon left mid third period with an injury, and he seemed pretty pissy about it. I wonder if he hurt his shoulder again???
Hannay, Frk out with possible injuries and Ashley will be suspended a minimum 1 game for his match penalty today...
GO MOOSE GO!
Oh believe me I know, Moncton is 5-3 vs us year. We play our worst hockey against their system. And BB has been playing their best hockey of the season this past few weeks. A month ago we were the favorites should we meet in the second round, now I'm not so sure.
I was bringing up Saint John because they are seen as pretty much unbeatable. And they showed that with their 6-1 trouncing of us. But if we can get Hannay and Gillard back, should we be fortunate enough to make the 3rd round, we have the potential to surprise them.
