THN list - NHL players vote for best players

The Hockey News polled NHL players to vote on who they felt were the best players in the league
Five players from each team voted on who they felt were the top 5 players in the league. You could not vote for anyone on your team. The first 10 are up, the whole list will be in their March 19 issue

http://www.thehockeynews.com/article...yers-5046.html

Mke Richards is #42. Just making the list of 50 is quite a feat when you consider it meanas a lot of players who you go to war with think that highly of/respect your abilities. I know from reading the post game comments , a lot of players around the leagye find MR very hard and frustrating to play against. Esp in this own zone because he reads the lanes and traffic so well, uses his instincts and stick to break up plays.

Someone on the main boards who has seen the list, said the top 6 are all centers.

My guess would be Crosby, Malkin, Datsyuk, Sedin, Stamkos and Giroux (other than Crosby, not in any part. order)

Doubt Giroux is top 6. Toews/Staal I'd guess, with Kopitar/Thornton/Tavares ahead of Giroux, wherever he is.

I have a very hard time believing Eric Staal is top 6.

Wouldn't bet that Kopitar even made top 50.

Kopitar finished in a THN poll in the top 20 last year, and I don't think that one was a players poll.
I don't know how he did in this one, they only release 5 a day, today 36 to 40 (Krejci, rask, hossa, spezza and Fluery) are up.
It's the same link as above.

A 2011 players poll voted Kopitar as one the top 15 most underrated players in the league.

You guys are going to be disappointed, Quick didn't even make the list. That alone makes this list worthless. Kopi is #30 while Doughty is #23.

Also, Giroux is several spots above Malkin

Really? I think there is some favoritism going on there as well. I'm sure that Mike Smith voted for his buddy Kopi.

Quick probably didn't make the list, because each player chose 1 goalie max and they found one better. I also don't expect any Eastern Conference players to be voting for Quick.

I think it's in the current edition of THN so it's not a spoiler.
