Thats really not the point, we are talking about trade value here.

I can almost guarantee the Isles have no interest in Schneider.

1) They are trying to re-sign Nabokov
2) They have three prospect goalies....Poulin was the AHL goalie of the month for January. Nilsson was the AHL goalie of the month for February. The Isles are very high on these prospects.
3) Schneider is a UFA after next year. The Isles aren't going to give up a top prospect for 1 year of a goalie. The only way a team would give up a top asset for Schneider would be if they were confident of re-signing him.
4) When was the last time Garth Snow traded for an established player to help his team? I believe that was Ryan Smyth.

For Vancouver when considering Tampa as a trading partner there just isn't anyone else outside of Hedman that makes any sense to acquire. NFITO has dealt with the most obvious concerns and that is that a young forward like a Connolly is providing nothing that the team doesn't already have. Connolly will one day be a good player for sure but that day is not now.

Where I might disagree with NFITO is that free agency can change a lot and it's very possible the Canucks solve their defensive problems by just signing someone or making another trade if necessary. It seems obvious that unless Ballard can play at a high level like he was before his 'injury' (forgive the quotes, can't help myself) that Vancouver will have a bit of room to bring on some salary. It's also worth remembering with the acquisition of Gragnini it may make the acquisition of yet another forward realistic if he is capable of playing 20-22 mins a night.
