I hope Ufa wins the Gagarin Cup. Maybe winning that will convince Radu he has accomplished all he can in the KHL and he'll come play here next season

EDIT: He has apparently already won it with Ufa, but maybe a 2nd one would help.

Haha I finally got the feed to work. I looked up, saw chrome offering to translate the page for me, clicked it, and it all became so simple

Just wanted to add - I enjoy both leagues for me NHL is best on small ice and KHL is absolutely different style of hockey but still best on international ice. Some players can play well on both some can't.

and about Philstrom and Koistinen and others

Philstrom is no way top offencive player in KHL and he is far from having a decent KHL career and Koistinen as well and Kulyash isn't elite blueliner here. They are all depth players. But if you look up 1-2 line and top pairings there are players who can be fine NHLers imho

first pairs on defence for both teams are: Proshkin(2g in this game) and Atyshov (on the second pair btw there's Miroslav Blatak who was on Olympic Team Czech) and Ak Bars first pair is Nikulin (Atlanta was trying to get him to NHL for so long) and Korneyev both Team Russia as well.In the previous seasons Ak Bars had Nikulin-Emelin pair, Emelin is pretty fine right now with Montreal. And imho Nikulin is much better player overall.

look at the attacking lines Radulov-Grigorenko-Saprykin imho fine line in NHL

and Ak bars has Zaripov-Kapanen-Morozov NHL line? of course i think they won't be outsiders in NHL at any given night.

What i mean is top lines in KHL is pretty solid for any level of competition especialy it's true for play-off teams. And i don't think Radu hasn\t proggressed here as a player actualy he proggressed a lot i might say he is a far better passer now than he was in his first KHL season.

Are there any rules preventing Radulov from returning to the Predators this year? Maybe this has been covered in the thread already... too lazy to dive into 12 pages of dialogue.

There has been a debate about whether or not he is exposed to waivers upon return mid-season. The CBA has no language covering this exact situation. It says players under contract (which Radulov is) and who were loaned to a European league (which Radulov was not) are exempt. I think they will make a special case for Radulov if he does decide to come back this season, but I highly doubt he will.

It was confirmed by Dmitry Chesnokov that he will not return this year. After the KHL season is up, he's getting ready for international play.

Yeah this is exactly why I doubt he will be back. Anything could happen, of course, but the chances are essentially 0

Is this news, or are you referring to the comment last week? Because Chesnokov only said that he expected Radulov to play in the WC, as its been important to him in the past. At the time it wasn't confirmed one way or another.

@dchesnokov Could Radulov return to the Predators this season once KHL year done? Would burn last year of deal, setting up for new contract.

Dmitry Chesnokov ‏
@myNHLTradeRumor no. He's set to play for the national team at the IIHF Worlds
Maybe he was just speculating, but he sounds pretty definitive.

as much as I'd like to have him for this years playoffs, it probably better for the team if he comes over in summer and plays a whole season a 975k.

of course, we will probably have to go ahead and sign him to an extension, and he'll probably want to make up for the year of 975k by getting more per year in his extension

he can want that, but we pretty much have him by the balls here. I think a 3 year, 5 mil per is a fair deal for him to take. That would set him up for a huge contract in a few years before going back home.

Right now Nashville has a glut of good NHL forwards. Nashville could go 5 lines deep if they were allowed to.

If Radulov comes back you would have to make room for him as IS with the current roster. That means not re-signing AK, Yip, Tootoo. With Bourque and Smith making an impression, it could be interesting what the roster looks like next year but let's enjoy this year.

Niko Kapanen scores 48 seconds into OT to tie the series at a game apiece heading to Ufa for games 3 & 4!

Ak Bars has Zaripov-Kapanen-Morozov line? Wow, that's a heck of a line!

looks like Rads got another assist and has 4 in 2 PO games to lead the KHL.
