I like those lines a lot! Halischuk and Yip are victims of circumstance right now with both Smith and Bourque scoring in Carolina, they weren't coming out. However, that also fuels their passion and pushes them to work hard to be ready for their next opportunity because it shows them that results equal rewards.

We know what the Fisher line can do. I like the AK-Leggy-Smith combination because it reminds me again of the 33-11-15 line we saw earlier this year. While AK is a shooter, he also has very underrated playmaking skills as he showed Tuesday night. With Smith on that line he has a finisher and hopefully Legwand can get back to the production we saw from him earlier this year surrounded by youth.

Gaustad was acquired not only to replace Smithson, but also to bump Spaling down a slot to the fourth line. The Wilson-Tootoo combination has been working well for a couple of months now and with Gaustad in there they get a little more size and gumption to add to their cycle game. Only time will tell, but I think we'll see some good things from this line as they gain chemistry down the stretch. They will be a difficult line to play against come playoff time...

Lastly, Bourque-Spaling-Hornqvist. Fact of the matter is that both Spaling and Hornqvist should be receiving bottom-six minutes at ES and making it up on the PK and PP respectively. Bourque has found his niche as a little sparkplug that makes things happen with his speed and tenacity. If they can get the puck to the net, Hornqvist will be in his glory. Overall, this is the line I think you'll see continue to change as the season wears down. If Trotz can find a combo that works...it's golden!

Overall, this is a first shot at finding chemistry and putting people into positions to succeed. I like it for that purpose, but we'll have to wait to see how it looks on the ice prior to passing judgement.

Halischuck hasn't moved his feet for two games. He doesn't deserve the PT right now. When he is working, he is a good player. He isn't a good player right now...

Download a roster ap for your smart phone like I did. Yes you have to hand enter the stats but valuable when translating numbers to names

Like the line combos with the exception of the 4th. Looks like they picked names out of a hat and came up with Bourque, Spaling and Horns.

I hope Smith can take advantage of the icetime.

Today's lines courtesy of Jim Diamond (@diamondhockey on Twitter)

Sergei - Fisher - Erat
Andrei - Legwand - Hornqvist
Wilson - Spaling - Tootoo - (Halischuk)
Bourque - Gaustad - Yip (Smith)

From the looks of that...Halischuk and Yip might be the odd men out tomorrow...

Not bad at all. Just flip Horn and Smith. I think it will happen while the game go on.

I love lines 1, 3, and 4, but Legwand's line just looks off to me. Two shooters with a guy who has trouble creating offense.

At the same time, I don't really want to mess with the current lines just because we gained AK. Maybe Legwand will step his game up.

I would hardly consider Hornqvist a shooter.

He is , uh, finisher, I guess.

He's basically a niche shooter. A finisher would be a subset of shooter in my eyes.

I don't like him there because he is pretty bad on the cycle. I guess it really depends on how well AK and Legwand click.

Oops...meant Halischuk and Smith would be the odd men out of the lineup in Florida...

If we put Goose and Toots on the same line should we bring goose calls to the game to go along the Tootoo whistles? That could create a racket!

I've been messing around with the new "cap team" idea and how made a few different rosters, and I'm curious to see which of these 2 teams you guys think would be better for us to go with:

TEAM 1

Erat-Fisher-Parise
Wilson-Smith-SK
Borque-Legwand-Hornqvist
Hali-Spaling-Toots

Weber-Suter
Klein-Josi
Ellis-Hillen/Blum/Frankie

TEAM 2

Erat-Fisher-AK
Wilson-Smith-SK
Borque-Legwand-Hecht
Tootoo-Gaustad-Hornqvist
Hali/Spals

Weber-Suter
Carle-Gill
Josi-Klein
Ellis
