I REALLY want Anisimov to shoot more. I think he has the hardest wrist shot on the team. Now, work with me here guys...Gaborik CLEARLY has the best wrister on the team, but thats largely due to his sickly quick release. Arty has the absolute loonnngggeessttttt release ever, which requires a full cradle wind up.
If he realized "**** I have space, SHOOT!" he'd be fine, but if there's a D man on him he will never have time to get his shot off.

Which is why most of Arty's goals are scored on the rush when he has the time not only to wind up but to use the defender as a screen.
He is a little goofy and is unable to get good wood on the puck in front-of-net situations, but he is very good at shooting the puck. No question.
A member of the Hurricanes was digging for a rebound under Biron. A little scrum ensued and Dubinsky took it upon himself to relocate the Hurricane player's stick to the corner of the boards. Got called for roughing (should have been unsportsmanlike) and the Cane's took a 1-0 on the ensuing powerplay.
He got an unsportsmanlike penalty.
19:10 NYR BRANDON DUBINSKY : UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT - 2 MIN

Dubi reprimand had little to do with circumstance. He had to be placed in coach doghouse. Any player that was intended to be traded and the deal failed to materialize has to go through this. Why? I am not sure, but it just almost always happens. I am sure even Nash should go through something like that. May be it is the way to say "Welcome back to the family" or something like that. They say " they don't really love you, if they never break your balls". In other words, I don't think it is anything significant. He will be back tonight and will show better effort.
What's up with the refusal to play Erixon? He's by all means NHL ready and has honed his small rink game in AHL for quite a while now. He's a blue chip prospect that needs NHL experience and would probably take the chance if he got it.
Yet we continue to play stray cats on D other teams have casted away. Weird.
We have a really good top four and our depth defensemen are serviceable. From what I hear, Erixon needs to get stronger for the NHL game and can use the minutes in the AHL.

The way the organization has been developing defensemen recently, I'm not concerned in the least.

Torts says pregame if Rangers had more people healthy, he'd be benching Brandon Dubinsky tonight #NYR
Obviously he could be bluffing, but either way it's pretty clear that he's pushing Dubi's buttons. Hope it means that Brandon comes out playing hard and disciplined.

I would hope that Dubin$ky comes out with a fire under his ass, but it's most likely not happening.
Torts is pushing Dubi. I seems to respect him but hates his immaturity. The episode of Behind The Bench that was on yesterday, Torts insinuated that Dubi steps on the logo a lot (they get fined for that, he said Dubi is the fine master or something). I think he wants him to succeed so much and now he's just really disappointed his lack of discipline.

If that doesn't light a fire under you, then you're not a competitor.
“I thought it was, quite honestly, just a ridiculous penalty, at a time of the season, when you’ve got 20 games left that we need to be working on other things as far as details than that nonsense,” Tortorella said.
“And, quite honestly, if other people were healthy tonight he wouldn’t be playing tonight. As much as I like this kid and as much as I think he can do some good things for us, we need to start seeing it now. Not that bull(^*#@!), but play and try and help us.”
