Is this it? Lidstrom getting sick and injured all of a sudden, I think he will retire after this season, he's feeling it.
What he is feeling is a puck to the ankle. Doesn't matter if you are 21 or 41, that stuff hurts. Not at all shocked he is out tonight, disappointing he is out for the game against the Hawks. Then again, getting ready and rested for playoffs is paramount this time of year.

Rather Lidstrom retire on top than go out on bottom like Chelios. But that being said I think next year is his last year no matter how he feels.

I never understood that "better to go out on top" garbage.

If the guy's no longer #1, but he still enjoys playing, and he's still better than our bottom pairing, and if his salary is adjusted to reflect that... then why shouldn't he play?

^This.

Lidström getting injured at regular season... resting... I'm smelling some metal... it looks like a Lord Stanley's Cup.
