We paid a 4th and Trevor Gillies (career AHLer) for Rucchin...we eventually got the 4th back in the Sykora deal so basically, it was Gillies for Rucchin. You think we can get a 2nd AND Chris Neil for him? We'd be lucky to get just Chris Neil for him.

What do you guys think of Denis Hamel? I read back in November or December at Spector's Hockey that he wouldn't mind a trade because he has no shot at making the Sens solid roster. He could be a good 3rd/4th liner for us and he's young.

You can't look at it like that. Rucchin was a salary dump. Burke had to move him and Sather was waiting. It's also a different time. Times standards change when they look to acquire a player that they feel can put them over the top heading into the playoffs.

I like Hamel. I remember Davisian has liked for years. I'd take Hamel or Neil and a pick.

Uh...think over what you just said...please do. Did a steal, a nice goal, and a faceoff win spoil you or something? Or maybe you just meant to say worst, not best

Rucchin could not get hit any harder if he stepped off a curb and got hit by a bus. Your all making good points here. Call me crazy, I just like the guy

I don't think anyone really dislikes him...it's just the way Renney uses him (2nd line center, 2nd unit PP, Prucha's center almost all year long) combined with his very sub-par play for being in those positions that's causing all the Rucchin hate...and like you said everyone is making good points...put him on the 3rd line where he belongs (and trade him when Betts is healthy, but that's another topic) and this wouldn't be an issue

since you are in a giving mood and asking I'll take a #1 pick. It will probably be the last pick in round 1 so essentially a 2nd rounder.

He played better, but keep in mind we were basically playing the WBS Penguins.
