We'll take the lead and won't see him because Carlyle will shorten his bench real fast.

Can I ask why?

I used to hate the Flyers, but it was because of Biron, Mike Richards, RJ Umberger, Briere and to a lesser extent Chris Pronger. Now the only player left there is Briere.

I hate the Flyers for the type of hockey they typically play and the history, but I don't have anything against this current team. I hate Briere and Shelley, but besides that I find the team likeable, especially compared to some of the other teams in the East.

Richards, Powe and Pronger were the hate-able players that are no longer playing as Flyers. Hartnell I still hate, though.

I have multiple reasons to hate the Flyers: the fact that they routinely wreck goalie after goalie, that they have beaten us to Jagr, with Richards and Carter being replaced by Giroux, B. Schenn, Bryzgalov and Jagr in my list of Flyers I hate most.

You shouldn't hate Giroux just because our management was too inept to select him in 2006.

Mind you, I still hate Komisarek and Kessel, maybe Gustavsson too.

It's not just because our management was too inept back in the day. It's also because he helped the Flyers can the Habs back in 2010.

Well, if we wanted to get technical that in itself is the cause and effect of why Giroux handed us our butts in 2010.

That said, Go Habs for tonight. I hate those damn Leafs too much to want to lose.

Are there going to be more people cheering for a leafs win here, and more cheering for a habs win on the leafs GDT?

You CANNOT cheer for the leafs tonight and call yourself a habs fan IMO, regardless of tank this is a rivalry game.

But so many of their fans were absolutely certain that they'd be in a playoff position at this point in the season...

A rivalry involves competitive teams not lottery ones IMO. Outside of the 'historic' factor, there shouldn't really be any emotion in this game as the last couple have shown.

Leafs fans are some of the more delusional fans in the world, this is proven again and again every single season.

The difference between this season and season's past is that they started strong this season and are fading at the end as opposed to the reverse. Now, they still have time to turn it around but they are also going to have to count on other teams like Washington, Buffalo and Winnipeg to lose games as they win them.

Their odds are certainly not in their favour.

Agreed, however that being said I have several friends in Ontario who are die-hard Leafers and there is usually a lot of ribbing-rights on the line for these games so I like to win them.

I know what you mean but I live in Toronto, you'd be surprised how many are pro-tank. Not much of a rivalry if both fanbases want their team to get a high pick.

How exactly is a Bruins fan going to a Habs-Leafs game?

I believe it.

A damned if you do damned if you don't situation, really. If they win they'll rib you for winning, if they lose they'll be happy for the tank. It kinda works both ways. I take a great deal of pride in predicting the fall of "Optimus Reim" this season, many of my Leafer buddies we're 100% certain he was the real deal.

To support the Bruins feeder team, the Leafs?

I'd love the Leafs too if they gave us Rask, Seguin and Hamilton.

Even if we win the lotto and get a chance to draft Yakupov?

We should've lost vs Minny and won this one.

Now I think we'll also win this one.

Frak!
