Let's ignore he continued to play the frigging Boyle line half the game, when they looked like a liability every single shift. They should've been benched in the 3rd.

The way Stralman defended on two of the goals was pretty weak. I don't know. Maybe since Sam and Joe never bring up anything the team does wrong, it never happened. I guess
I think he's one of the better in man to man situation and a top 6 when everyone is healthy. He might not be the best shot blocker, but you can't have it all. Compare him to Girardi in the offensive zon, his shot get bthrough snd hits the goal almost every time. Not something that can be said anout Girardi. We can't have 6 shut down defencemen on the ice. First to sit will be Bickel when everyone's healthy.

I think Torts saw all he needed to of the guy during his brief stint here to know he doesn't want him on his team.

Infuriating isn't it? And he's been doing it ALL season! Nothing good can come from this! Nothing!

Look where we are in the standings if you want proof!

I missed the game cuz i was at the whale game...both teams went into the third up by 1 and lost...

From what I have read it sure sounds like dubi had a breakout game finally and I hope that continues...

everyone needs a maintenance day today to recover and prepared...we need a huge game against Boston, we have had their number this year thus far and they want blood this time and now we are beat up

Man, I want the Rangers to have a high-scoring game again. You know, an easy win, giving the opponent no chance to come back.

When do we play the Flyers again?

At some point we need to trade a D for a top sniper.
Teams like Edmonton + TB hang close + sometimes beat us because they have enough premium snipers.

As long as they don't beat us over 7 games we'll be alright. Edmonton sure won't.

What do you suggest, should we try to get that Hall guy?

The defense was the problem yesterday. 3 goals should be enough to win.

The defense was not the problem. The problem is the game was played 85% in the Rangers' zone. They never established a forecheck. Never sustained pressure.

In short, the Lightning "out-used" us. Rangers stole a point.

And the reason the play was in their zone was because of the defense chasing all night and failing to make a pass out of the zone.

No. That's not the reason. The Bolts plan outworked the Rangers in all zones. They were the more aggressive team. The more physical team. And that's on the forwards and the defense. They never made the TB goalie work.

I was trying to make a point that Taylor Hall wouldn't help yesterday. Bernmeister is always advocating Girardi+ for Hall.

Since Cally got more or less as many goals as Hall, all we need is him back in the line up. Problem solved!

Hey, 3 out 4 points in a back to back isn't bad at all. We're just spoiled by the team always sweeping back to backs

I think DZ is doubtful for tomorrow, but please, let's hope Callahan will be back for tomorrow's game. Boston plays today, if they win and beat us tomorrow, they're only 6 points back. We need to win tomorrow.

Yeah, as much as it sucks we blew the lead after heading into the 3rd I'm not that upset about it. 3 points in 2 nights on the road, and without our 2nd leading goal scorer. I'll take that every time. Just hope Cally and MDZ get back soon...this team can't afford to be without two of its biggest offensive threats for long.

I think this game showed how important it is to have defense who can contribute to offense. Our D almost as a collective had subpar games and our forwards were outplayed.

Just what are you insinuating? Who talked about the season as a whole? It was this game, where they clearly and consistently looked lost and outmatched against Stamkos line. It was like a Tampa PP every time they hit the ice.

Or what, just because we're 1st in the standings, Torts doesn't make mistakes?

Boyle's line was fine, why should he have benched them?

And I think changing the tactic that have gotten us to the first place would have been a mistake, not the other way around.

A couple of problems. One, Tampa had last change against Boyle's line. Also, who do you give their time too? Mitchell/Rupp/Scott against Stamkos shift after shift would've been worse. You can't cut down to 2 lines on a 2nd night of back to backs. This is where the decision to trade Wolski and not replace him with someone else for depth can come into question.

They looked like a tired team. Not everybody, but a lot of important players. Girardi and McD had their worst game of the year. G took an extra second with the puck and consequently failed to get it out of the zone on the 1st goal. That led to McD being beaten to the puck in front of the net by the Tampa player. G kicking the puck directly to St.Louis after Feds won the face-off led to Tampa's 2nd. A mistake of a tired player. Feds was too slow to get to Lee to prevent the pass on the 3rd and Stralman didn't get close enough to Stamkos. Similar problem on the OT winner for Stralman. Doesn't block the shot nor get close to Malone to bother him. Hagelin also looked lost on the backcheck there. That and the careless high-stick, signs of a tired player.

Games like this happen in a long season. Lundy usually bailed them out previously on such occasions, unfortunately he couldn't do it on Malone's shot. He said he didn't feel right last night in the post-game. Looked great in the 1st though, game could've been over early like Chicago.
