Bobby Ryan at the draft

Any top 5 team interested in giving up a first plus prospect? Still on pace for 30 goals

Reasoning is due to wanting a center for the Etem's line a few years down the road. Whether the pick be Galchenyuk or Grigorenko. With Koivu retiring and Selanne retiring, the ducks will be in desperate need of scoring.

I think Galchs or Grigs IS that guy!

What would it take top 5 pick teams???

Top 5 Right now

Columbus - Maybe
Edm - Dont need Forward
MTL - Possible
NYI - No Need
Carolina - Need Forward

I doubt any team will give a top 5 pick fro Ryan though

No need? Islanders would love to have Bobby Ryan. He and Tavares would be money together.

I'd definitely give up our 1st for him, but if we were to trade it I'd rather get a defenseman.

If leafs drop into bottom 5, no doubt in my mind that they'd do it.

I can see Columbus preferring a NA boy but Anaheim would have to add.

Yah especially for first overall. Would Palmeiri+ Ryan do the trick? I personally think the price is to steep due to Ryan's great contract and proven success.

I'd trade the 2nd/3rd overall for Ryan as an Oilers fan. He gives us size, and immediate skill and scoring. Also, adds depth to our top-six allowing us to make a trade for defense.

Ryan is not going to be moved for a draft pick
If he's moved it's either for a center/top pair dman, or a package of young talent E.G Schenn/Kadri ish trade

Despite his struggles he should score 30, I really don't know what his deal is this year

How many top5 picks will be as good as Ryan statistically? I don't think that's a high %.

So no from Ducks POV.

At #2 you could always pick Grigorenko/Murray.

Maybe you should go back and look at the top 5 picks in recent years. More often then not they do become Ryan's level, and at least half of them are better then him. Given there are a few busts like Pouliet and Hickey, but everyone was surprised with the kings picking Hickey in the first place.

So then your team can have even more elite wingers and be weak everywhere else... smh

Islanders would hop all over that, he'd be perfect for JT's wing.

Hall - Gagner - Ryan
Paajarvi - RNH - Eberle

We can trade Paajarvi/Gagner/Hemsky for defense and/or a center. Ryan brings a ton of needs for us. Durability, size, skill, goal-scoring, experience.

This is what I don't get. If my top 5 pick turned into a player that was as good as Bobby Ryan i'd be delighted...but you're not sure that anyone would want to turn their potentially-as-good-as-Ryan pick into Ryan?

Ryan is pretty much what a team can expect from an average number two pick. If Anaheim were to trade him for a top five pick, the other team would probably have to add (unless it's for the number one, in which Anaheim would likely have to add) to counteract the risk of developing a prospect.

Cheap labor is as good as gold to a budget team like Anaheim. Not only that, but it's preferable to invest the biggest contracts on the team to its most important positions, center and defenseman.

I think the 4th/5th OV pick + Top prospect is a good offer for him.
