I wouldnt be surprised if the 1st round 400s is 75 a seat.
A 10% raise sounds about right. You just know the STH will be paying for the MSG improvements.
But my guess is the expensive seating is jumped >10%, as given that the Rangers are in 1st place, I bet they figure they can do WTH they want. And sadly, with all the corporations in NYC, and all the "rental fan hysteria" that will set in and jump demand come April, they will probably be correct.

It's not as great as it sounds*.
I dont know what year he's talking about, but I'm going to assume/use 1970 as a baseline. That $5 bill from 1970 adjusted for inflation is about $30 today. So those "two full season seats" would actually be about $2,500 in 2012 USDs. Still better than today's prices for a Rangers fan, but not as ridiculously cheap as it sounds.
*WARNING: Dork out session coming

Was hoping we'd get the email today regarding the invoices for the play-offs and next year. Wouldn't be surprised if they sent them out at around 4:55 to avoid tons of calls to the season ticket office tonight. Maybe next friday.

Yeah I'd say March 9th is the date most likely. They said early March and they wanna do it on a Friday to avoid the **** storm from the media so that's the only date.
So we got one more week before everyone is either pleased with what they see or everyone goes absolutely ape **** on the Garden

In 2010 I got an email on Thursday 3/4 @ 4:03 PM
"NY Rangers 2010 Playoff Information"
In 2011 I got it on Monday 3/14 @ 8:34 PM
"Your NYR 2011 Playoffs & 2011-12 Ticket Information"
I think we're about a week away and that any hold up will be because they are relocating people in the upper bowl at the same time so they have to prepare that whole big process too.
My e-mail last year actually came on Friday March 11 at 4:46 PM
They must have sent the email notices on different dates for people who were and were not getting relocated:

Dear XXXXXXXXXX,
On behalf of the entire New York Rangers family, we want to thank you for your continued support throughout the 2010-11 Season. As a Season Subscriber since XXXX, you're part of The Garden faithful that make every game a true Blueshirt experience.
As I'm sure you are aware, Madison Square Garden is in the midst of a historic Transformation. From the entrance to concourses, luxury suites to concession stands, ice to new sky bridges, fans will experience a state-of-the-art arena that's as memorable as the moments that happen here. And while a lot about The Garden may be changing, there's one thing that never will — the passion of the fans. The energy and excitement that has always made Madison Square Garden the greatest arena in the world will be just as apparent in the transformed Garden as it is today.
As you know, our Rangers are battling with several teams for that coveted playoff berth and there is nothing like the excitement of Rangers playoff hockey at The World's Most Famous Arena. We are excited to share your 2011 Playoff Information. As in past years, we are offering a pay-by-round payment option, enabling you to pay for playoff rounds as they occur.
probably a stupid question (and yes, there IS a such thing as a stupid question), but did they include a seating chart with play-off pricing?
I assume they offered the pay by round for the play-offs again?
No seating chart but my renewal and playoffs came in the same package. I assume it will be the same with the upper bowl but with the added re-location excitment.
Playoff ticket prices released for me (full STH). Corner 300's pricing has gone up by over 10%:
SECTION 302
Round 1: $102 per ticket
Round 2: $112 per ticket
Round 3: $150 per ticket
Stanley Cup: $230 per ticket
$25 optional shipping fee
You may all now log into your accounts and go to invoices to see your prices for playoff tickets and next year's renewal. If you renew for next year right away you get a 10% discount on the playoff tickets
Yeah those greedy basturds are squeezing hard on seasons and playoffs. They're going to get away with it for the next couple years but I think there's a breaking point and it's going to come soon

I agree its insane!!!! it was $50 for first round last year if I recall correctly. Not going to lie if we make it to the finals demand will be high I bet you could fetch 500-1000 per ticket for those games maybe more, and I might just do that to pay for next years tickets

Round 1: $75 per ticket
Round 2: $95 per ticket
Round 3: $115 per ticket
Stanley Cup: $190 per ticket
What a huge markup from last year
Only thing that went down was the ECF which was $120 last year. Round 1 went from $65 to $75, round 2 from $76 to $95 (holy ****) and the SCF from $150 to $190.
Funny how the 2nd round gets jacked up a ton in a year where they're finally near the top of the standings.
