MSG going public was a big screw job for us. As a public company, they have to show growth to shareholders. To increase revenue, the easiest thing to do is raise tix prices.

haha, believe it or not, I would be ok with giving them up. She wants us to keep them.

I guess with the team being so good, they saw an increase in interest in those seats and figure the team will be good again next year so they can justify it. That and they figure if they go unsold, they could just dump em off to brokers on the cheap.

Can anyone make out what that little area of dead space is on the seating chart behind the center uppers?

If you can sell them (and at least break even) with minimal effort I'd say keep them. It's nice to have access to them for the playoffs. And with no pre-season games for another season, perhaps two, it's easier to get your investment back.

They are sneaky..they raised the $165s by only $5 but the $120s by $12 to close the gap in "value". The end result may just be not only unsold seats in $170 but also in $132 too. Way over-priced.

That's the thing. I have never had a problem selling off about 25 games or so and getting the money back. May sell off a few more next year and only go to about 8-12.

I don't think anyone will have issues breaking even in the $47-$53 pricing points. Those are some of the cheapest seats in the house so demand will be there. Plus I expect the team to be good again next year which will also have an effect on demand. You can make some good money off the weekend games too. Hell look at tomorrow, some of the prices are nuts. You can regain money off the rare game you may lose money on by selling some of those games. A lot of the weekend afternoon games have a dead atmosphere anyway to be honest.

Yup, $132s are a terrible value imo. I do think I will dump mine as I strongly considered last summer when they went from to $120. Would rather have 4 together in the 200s anyway...not that it will be easy particularly if I want to remain in the 2nd row.

I was able to sell my pair of tickets in the 400s for $250

I agree, hence why those are the first I try to sell. Crazy thing is, those are the games I get the best premiums.

I also think it will be fairly easy for people to break even on the $73 and $79 price points as well. It might be a bit more work for people in row 13, but even then it shouldn't be too difficult to get a few $ over face considering what ticketbastard charges for individual game tickets. A few weeknight games against the crappy teams could be a bit more work, but in the end I think most everyone in the upper bowl will come out ok.

Yeah, if anything I sold my tickets too soon this year. lol I can't complain, I went to a few games for free and still made some money. And it's nice not having to pay the reseller markup for playoffs.

No one in the uppers did yet. Should be in the mail for everyone now though unless they're still relocating people. Only MessierIsGod got it and he's in the lower bowl so he doesn't have to deal with the relocation process.

If I'm row N (Row 14) of 306, do I get a price point of $73 or $50? From that picture, it looks like Row 13 is the change in price.

Or do we not know yet?

I'm cautiously optimistic I might be in the best price point of the building, the $50.00 dark blue, lower corner near center ice.

Won't know until you get your invoice probably. It's been said that 14 rows cover the lower portion of the upper bowl so you may be one of the last rows in the $73 price point.

If they put Row A 300's in Row 3 of the 200's, maybe I'll luck out. Can you really imagine them putting a 59.00 seat in a new 150.00 section? People will flip out

I really need to see that chart. I'm in the corner 3rd row (but maybe they consider 302 goal?) and my section has already been renovated

EDIT: ok thanks I just saw the post with the chart JPG

Definitely the upper rows, not sure about rows 15-20. I don't think you can read in to the ticket prices as a way of determining if the bridges will be there because it seems like the prices increased similarly in the 300's and 400's.

Probably right around there in that area.

I think your tickets should be $73. I believe behind the goals in the 300's beyond row 2 is considered 200's lower corner.
