I think he could get a little less than what Nash is going to get in a trade. Why?

- Nash is signed for 6 more years in his prime.
- Nash has a more complete game.
- Kessel is going to ask for 7.0 million or more on this next contract to stay in Boston. That brings him only 800k less than Nash.

Now if Boston had given Columbus the offer I put up top from Boston, the trade is made but Chiarelli refused to part with Rask.

There's no way PK is the softest player in the NHL. He's pretty soft, yeah, but no way he's the softest.

I'd take a chance on Sidney Crosby for Kessel

Not to winning hockey teams. Leafs will never win with Dion and Kessel as their best players

Dion can win, but Phil, not a chance. I'm a leafs fan and i dislike the guy so much... I love his goals and stuff but id rather have a powerforward who can play with grit, play both ends of the rank and score 30, than a guy like kessel who can score maybe 40 goals but shy away from a hit or even dodge checks that my 11year old nephew wouldn't dodge...Ive seen the guy just dump the puck anywhere because he saw a guy infront of him coming... I bet you Carlyle will see this soon and be like wtf... If he starts checking and actually win battles down low, than ill start liking him, but till than no thanks..

not implying, he isnt. he'd be great in no check league. not a playoff type player and he wont change. have fun reading leading scorer stats while other teams are in the playoffs

Drew Stafford does not add a lot to this deal. If you take his salary into account, hes not really a great asset.

And you will never get fair value for Enroth.

You were wrong, and he called you on it. No need to dump on the whole team.

what? are you talking about Phil's 9 goals in 15 playoff games with the Bruins when he was with Savard 4 years ago? Sample size and context maybe? Kessel will never be more than a one trick pony and not a competitor. He will never be on a cup winning team and neither will Dion.

His regular season point totals were less back then and he was younger, if anything he should be even better in the playoffs now than before.

Just give up.

Kessel's on pace to have a career high in goals with Tyler Bozak as his centre. Yet somehow, Savard keeps cropping up in arguments.

Weird.

Right, because two players can definitely carry a team into the playoffs.

Some people in here....good grief
