Does Luc Robitaille Reach 700 Goals?

I'm pretty sure I know what answer I'll be getting plenty of. He'll be 40 years old in 2 weeks and is 35 goals off the mark.

You'd have to think no.

But if he continues his recent good play and nets at least ten more goals this year, I suppose there's a chance he would come back for one more year and possibly score 25 more.

However, it's doubtful.

why? Mark Messier seems to be perfectly content with his decision to remain 6 goals shy. Luc is IN the Hall of Fame!

700 goals is quite the accomplishment.

However, Luc wouldn't come back just to do that. If he did, it'd be because he still thought he could contribute and had something to offer the team. Getting to 700 would just be a perk.

as opposed to what, having a bio that reads as a template for "RUDY" which sees you go on to achieve - Rookie of the year, most goals in a season by a left wing, most goals EVER by a left wing, leading scorer in the history of a franchise, and a Stanley Cup?

he's good enough!

i only ask because very few players have ever registered 700 goals and 700 assists. not even mark messier, ron, francis, steve yzerman, mario lemieux, or brett hull achieved the feat!

Shame he didnt play his whole career in LA as he could have achieved that milestone easily. But no it's not going to happen. Luc has almost nothing left to offer right now, and i can't see an NHL team even signing him next season.

That's a comment I made earlier in the season. He had what? One productive non-Kings season? Had he stayed, we might have a thread asking: "Can Luc reach 800?"
