THE MATCHUP
GAME #64

MADISON SQUARE GARDEN - NYC, NY

QUOTES TO NOTE
There’s a certain way I think I need to play, I just need to focus on that every night.
Just trying to be a professional. I’ve been around long enough, I understand what I did the last game and I understand the punishment.
It something I wanted to move past and I did.
- Brandon Dubinsky
The tough part is every time they shoot between the legs of someone, you're always late to pick it up.
It was tough to lose in overtime. I felt like they made it tough for us all night.
- Henrik Lundqvist
We lost some battles, we really struggled with our battles in the corners. But again, we find a way, to get a point here.
The team that played the best won, but I’m still happy of us bouncing back, killing off the four minutes and getting a point.
- John Tortorella

This is so annoying...Knicks vs Celtics and Rangers vs Bruins on at the same freaking time.
How does that make sense?

Or better yet, get yourself a 2nd set and watch both games simultaneously, like I plan to.

Win tommorow and it'll be hard for Boston to catch us since we only play them again once. Not to get ahead of myself but unless we completely **** the bed and fall flat on our faces, the only team that can catch us are Pens.

If we win this game, the first place in the East is pretty much guaranteed. No way Boston can make up 12 points in 18 games. We could take it pretty easy the rest of the way, not over-playing our stars (including Lundqvist), not pushing our injured guys at all, etc.
If we take this game, we have more than a month to breeze into the playoffs as the top seed.

The Bruins are struggling right now, they're still getting some wins, but that team from November is long gone. Let's take advantage of that.

Bruins are gonna come out ornery. Have to watch out for an early onslaught.

While I mostly agree with this, you do have to be careful.
Remember what happened to the red sux last season?

This year? I can remember 5 games, and they're 4-1-0 (including NBCSN).

For the OP-
Marchand on the LW, Rolston on the right. Lane MacDermid was recalled and will replace Dan Paille. McQuaid is paired with Seidenberg and Corvo with Zanon.
Should be a great game. Look forward to it.

Looked like a groin injury, and it didn't look good. He left on crutches and didn't make the trip. Tried to make a stop on a deflected puck and it was immediate.
We'd been fortunate with injuries, or lack thereof, but guys are dropping like flies now. Starting with Horton, we've lost Peverley, Boychuk (temporarily), Ference, and now Rask & Paille.
But everybody has them, so it's the way it goes. And no one feels bad for their competition and certainly not for the defending champs.

So far, the Rangers are 2-0 on NBC. 5-2-2 on NBC-SN/VS.
