Did I mention how good Leino was tonight? I'm really happy for him.

Good game. Can't be mad at them for letting Vancouver take it to them in terms of shots and hits on a 3 in 4 western road trip.

Loved Leino's defensive game tonight.

Also loving Ennis' new style in the D-zone. Looks like he took a page from Briere on how to play it. Use your speed to backcheck guys and stick to steal it, then quickness to make room for yourself. He no longer looks lost.

Did Roy, Vanek, and Pominville play tonight, or were they all scratched?

Don't disrupt the EHS line, Stafford's speed is a huge component of that line. Lots of speed, lots of scoring, keep that together. As for Vanek, bench his ass to the 3rd or even 4th line, his performance on his road trip is just pitiful.

Canucks fan coming in peace. You guys played great, and we totally failed in the first five minute!

We'll be keeping Kassian now

Our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th lines.
Leino's best game as a Sabres by a lot.
Miller staying true to form on this west coast swing.
Matt, The Chosen One, Ellis doing all the little things. He may have been the best forward on the ice save Leino.
Sekera is our best defensemen right now.
I thought Sulzer was a lot better than advertised. We'll see if it continues...

B:
Vanek. Roy.

U:
Vanek better be injured. Because this is ridiculous. He's been terrible for several game now. Very slow to skate and action, lazy checking and passing. Its embarassing to watch your most highly-touted forward get soundly beat in effort by every other forward on either team.
Vancouver's dishonest play.

Ennis played amazing as usual.

Vanek missed the flight apparently. What is going on with that guy?

Ruin Chemistry? If anything they'd just switch CoHo and Roy. The lines are fine. Why change them on a 3 game winning streak.

I have a feeling that line is eventually going to explode. They've gotten their chances. Ennis and Stafford are making up for Hodgson's lack of speed, and his smarts at center makes sure the puck gets put in the right spots. He's reminding me a lot of Briere: not super fast or big, but damn is he crafty.

Roy was terrible.

Poms was engaged but saddled with two useless plugs.

I would much rather have Stafford struggle than Vanek. He has to get going.

What game were you watching? We played a great 3rd period we matched vancouvers chances and zone time

They had a great stretch of chances in the third. The second, however, was a full-on turtle mode.
3 terrible calls against us in the 2nd didn't help. Those calls were ridiculous

You're absolutely right, I should've said 2nd period. They got absolutely dominated in the 2nd. We were good in the 3rd offensively. Defensively, I thought we were ******.

Now Canuck fans think Kassian is better than Hodgson. Bahaha if you think Kassian gooning it up and getting two points playing with The Sedin's for a period of time and then on Kesler's line which Hodgson never had a chance to do makes him better then Hodgson who was making plays and playing good defensively tonight. Kassian was a -2 after 1st as well. with 2 points he was still even while Hodgson +1.

Good:
Another solid game from Miller
I'm happy for Leino and Boyes who have to be wondering wtf had happened to themselves
Booth and Kassian, two first-round power forwards who have been questioned, putting it together.

Bad:
Last year Ruff made a point of saying that Vanek had turned it on after Roy went out because it gave Vanek the opportunity to do more things with the puck. This year Vanek was hottest until playing with Roy. Now he's disappeared. Pominville is being dragged down as well. Either Roy is a schlub or he isn't, Lindy, make up your freakin mind. Vanek deserves some of the blame for his poor play of late, of course, but there's just something about that situation that seems... toxic. Vanek-Roy-Pominville should be a dangerous line. Three players with multiple 70+ point seasons between them, all playing their natural positions?

Ugly
Gragnani trying to prove he's not a soft, weak player. Tough to watch.

Definitely a team win tonight.
I'm glad the refs swallowed their whistles in the third. The second period calls were a joke.
6 out of 6 points, with a 1.0 GAA on the west coast? That's nuts.

good:
any win over the #1 team in hockey. enough said
leino embracing the new responsibilities and being rewarded
boyes. he's been showing up here a lot the last week or so. great time for him to peak
ehrhoff getting a goal in vancouver. always nice to score when you're getting boo'ed

bad:
sulzer didn't play a terrible game all-around, but he had some very iffy moments.
luongo caved big-time

ugly:
the vancouver board after that cbc interview. they went from missing hodgson and wishing him the best to hating him and hoping he never wins a cup. and despite his quiet-but-decent night, according to them you'd think he was hot garbage on the ice. is it any wonder there are guys out there that go out of their way to avoid playing in canadian markets? all fans are fickle, there's no doubt about that, but good lord...

The Bad:
- All the eastern conference bubble teams won today as well - no ground gained.
-You guys have been outshot 68 to 117 in the last 3 games.

The good:
- Luck has prevailed, your goalie has saved the day, and you've pulled together three desperately needed wins.
